NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Victor Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham & More Picks for Friday, Nov. 14

As a parting gift for the work week and with the weekend arriving, I’ve picked out my top five NBA player props for Friday, Nov. 14.

Jalen Johnson put up a stat line that no other player in NBA history has reached last night, dropping 31 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists, and seven steals in a 10-point victory over the Utah Jazz. Devin Booker also dropped 33 points and seven assists in a blowout win against the Indiana Pacers, who are now just 1-11 on the year.

Friday’s games include an Eastern Conference matchup between the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers, and a rematch out west between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. For more info, take a look at our NBA Eastern Conference odds.

Cade Cunningham Under 28.5 Points (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The 24-year-old is 10th in the league in scoring at 27.5 points per night and just scored 46 points his last time on the floor. However, he missed an NBA-record 31 field goal attempts in that game and is 6-5 in favor of the under on this line so far.

The Philadelphia 76ers don’t have an amazing defense, but they’re right around league average and have capable on-ball defenders. They also held Cunningham to 26 points in 41 minutes when they played five days ago, which gives me more confidence to bet his under.

Marcus Smart Over 1.5 Threes (-132) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Smart is having a terrible year shooting the ball, having made 1.1 threes per game on 26.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc. On the bright side, he took 5.2 threes per game during November and hasn’t looked reluctant to take his shots.

The New Orleans Pelicans have an abysmal defense and rank 22nd in three-point percentage allowed and 27th in made threes allowed per game. They will need to show extra help on drives created by Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, which should leave Smart unguarded on several long-range attempts.

There’s been a philosophical shift in Wemby’s approach to his gamers this week. He took nine, nine, and seven three-point attempts in his last three games, whereas he’d only averaged 2.8 three-point attempts per game for the year before that stretch.

Draymond Green did a terrific job of guarding Wembanyama and making him uncomfortable, and that could lead to Wemby backing up to find more space on the perimeter. The 7-foot-4 Frenchman also went 3-7 from downtown when these teams played just two days ago.

James Harden Over 9.5 Assists (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Harden has a great opportunity to rack up assists against a Dallas Mavericks squad that has gotten better on defense, but that isn’t the finished product. There also might not be a better player in the league than Harden at getting downhill and creating lob opportunities for his big men.

The Mavs’ starting backcourt of Brandon Williams and Max Christie doesn’t have a chance of guarding Harden, which means they’ll need to depend on rotations from their help defenders. That’s where Harden, who split the over/under at five games apiece, can shine.

OG Anunoby Over 20.5 Points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

This might come as a surprise, but Anunoby averaged 23.1 in 16 games without Brunson, who suffered an ankle sprain during his last appearance, last year. He also went over this line in 13 of those games, including nine straight to close the year.

The 28-year-old forward went under in three straight, but he also went over in three of four just before that. The Miami Heat play at an extremely rapid pace and allowed the third-most points per game, which plays a big part of why I believe that Anunoby can get to the over on Friday evening.
