NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Cooper Flagg & More Picks for Wednesday, Jan. 14

The NBA is back in session on Wednesday, and I’ve made my favorite player prop picks and bets for the action.

Jamal Murray put up 35 points and nine assists as the Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans Pelicans last night, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 points to exact revenge in a blowout win against the San Antonio Spurs.

There are seven games around the league, headlined by a matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers.

VJ Edgecombe Over 14.5 Points (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Edgecombe, the third-overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft, went over this line in six of his last eight games while averaging 16.7 points per game in 2026. He also raised his season three-point percentage to 38.2 following a good couple of months, shooting 39.1 percent from deep in December and 40.8 percent in January.

The 76ers are about to take on the Cavs, who allowed the most made threes per game over the last few weeks. Cleveland’s defense has also taken a noticeable step back from where it was just a couple of years ago, and Edgecombe is still fairly aggressive and willing to attack the defense with the ball in his hands.

Tre Jones Over 6.5 Assists (+122) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Jones played a great game in last night’s loss to the Houston Rockets, putting up 34 points and seven assists on a wicked 91.7 percent shooting. Tonight, he’ll face a Utah Jazz squad that ranks fourth in pace of play (the Bulls are third) and regularly gives up the most points and assists per game in the league.

With both Josh Giddey and Coby White expected to be sidelined, Jones should have a near-monopoly of the ball when initiating the offense. He went over this line in four of his last seven games, and there is strong value, given the perceived likelihood that he cashes the over.

Kris Dunn Over 8.5 Points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

So what Dunn isn’t the typical image of a modern-day NBA scorer and only averaged 8.0 points per game? He played 28.7 minutes per night in January and could see an increased amount of time on the floor if Kawhi Leonard, who is questionable, ends up sitting out.

The Los Angeles Clippers are going to face the Washington Wizards, who allowed the second-most points per game over their last 15 contests. Dunn split the over/under at three apiece in his last six outings, but this feels like a good opportunity for him to get back into my good graces.

Cooper Flagg Over 4.5 Assists (-146) at FanDuel Sportsbook

There’s just too much space and pace in the modern NBA for Flagg not to have a great chance to beat this line, following an injury to Anthony Davis. The 19-year-old just had five assists in his last game against the Brooklyn Nets, who are a top-10 team in assists allowed per game since the middle of December.

The Nuggets have done a poor job of defending the perimeter ever since Nikola Jokic’s injury, which seems backward. Still, if they tilt in Flagg’s direction when he approaches the paint, he’s more than willing and capable of dishing the rock to an open teammate.

Egor Demin Under 2.5 Threes (-144) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Demin’s numbers paint the picture of an efficient rookie three-point shooter who could develop into something special one day. While he was one of my sleeper prospects in the draft (who happened to be taken earlier than most expected), he is not quite as fluid with his jump shot as the numbers suggest.

The 19-year-old went over in three of his last four games and shot an excellent 53.1 percent from three in the New Year, but his season 39.1 field goal percentage shows that he is still a work in progress. The Pelicans’ defense is mediocre at best, but regression to the mean is coming for Demin.
