There’s another loaded day of NBA basketball approaching, and I’ve picked out my favorite player prop bets for the action.
Donovan Mitchell was excellent last night, putting up 35 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers took down the Philadelphia 76ers. Brice Sensabaugh also dropped a career-high 43 points, but the Utah Jazz were defeated by the Chicago Bulls.
There are tons of matchups across the league today, including the Detroit Pistons hosting the Phoenix Suns, and the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Houston Rockets.
Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Thursday, Jan. 15.

Aldama went over in back-to-back games and in four of his last seven games, yet he didn’t score more than 15 points in any of those contests. He’s also going against an Orlando Magic squad that is a little above league-average in points allowed per game and could have size returning to its lineup with Franz Wagner potentially back in the fold.
Aldama only shot 45.2 percent from the field, 25 percent from three, and 73.3 percent from the free-throw line to start the New Year. His minutes distribution has also been relatively erratic, and he’s far from a guarantee against a team with Orlando’s size and length.

The Suns and Pistons are about to lock horns in a matchup between two cross-conference rivals, but with an extra dimension, seeing as Devin Booker is from nearby Grand Rapids, Michigan. That aside, Cunningham went over five of his last seven games, yet I don’t like this matchup for him.
The Suns found their stride, and they already allowed the fifth-fewest assists per game. Additionally, they clamped down and allowed the fewest assists per game over the last few weeks, and I think they’ll bring the intensity on the road and have a great defender, Dillon Brooks, guarding Cunningham.

Williams has not displayed much of an interest in using his athleticism to get on the boards, only averaging 4.9 rebounds per game. He did not have a single rebound in his last game and went under in four of his last six games, to boot.
The Houston Rockets have tons of size, length, and athleticism, so it isn’t a surprise that they allowed the fewest rebounds per game in the entire league. They haven’t shown any signs of letting up during recent outings, and I don’t expect Williams to suddenly change his ways and mix it up with the likes of Alperen Sengun, Steven Adams, Amen Thompson, and others.

There’s a bit of a well-known rivalry between Draymond Green and Towns, which sets the table for Thursday’s matchup between the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors. Jalen Brunson is expected to miss the contest, but Towns scored 29, 22, and 40 points in three games without his superstar teammate.
To add to that, Towns dropped 29 points in only 30 minutes on March 15, 2025, during his only meeting with the Dubs as a member of the Knicks. He went under in five straight games, but the influx of opportunities and demand should help motivate him to take more shots and get over this line.

Sorry, Brice, but there are always valleys after peaks. The 22-year-old from Ohio State might be coming off of a career-defining day, but look at the games after his recent explosive outbursts; he scored seven points on Monday, the game after he scored 26, and 12 on Jan. 3, the game after he scored 20.
Sensabaugh didn’t cash the over in consecutive games since Nov. 24 and 28, and he went under in seven of his last 10 games overall. The Dallas Mavericks aren’t very strong on defense, but the history of this player indicates he’s likely to come back to Earth after an excellent showing last night.
