As March Madness week begins, the NBA is back in session from coast to coast on Monday night.
DeMar DeRozan went for 41 points and 11 assists in the Sacramento Kings’ win over the Utah Jazz last night, while the Oklahoma City Thunder’s defense suffocated Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in a decisive victory.
Today’s schedule includes several high-profile matchups, including the Boston Celtics against the Phoenix Suns, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers against the Houston Rockets.
Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Monday, March 16.

Podziemski got 37 minutes of action last night and has continued to be allowed to spend lots of time on the court in the absence of Stephen Curry. He only had five rebounds on Sunday, but he went over this line in nine of 11 games immediately before that, including a pair of 15-rebound outings near the end of February.
The Washington Wizards play at a frenetic pace, creating more possessions and more rebounding opportunities. They allowed the most rebounds per game over the course of the season and shouldn’t put up much of a fight against the active Podz.

The Rockets have been one of the best defensive teams in the league all year, ranking third in assists allowed and fourth in points allowed per game for the season. They didn’t deviate from that standard recently and are about to play on their home floor, where they are 23-8.
LeBron had five assists in his last game and is exactly 5-5 on the over/under since the All-Star break. He had five assists in his only previous matchup with the Rockets this season on Christmas Day, and Houston’s compact halfcourt defense should force the ball into the hands of Luka Doncic more often, leaving him to score the points or hand out the assists.

Wemby was terrific over his last five games, averaging 33 points per game on 54.9 percent shooting. That included a 27-point night against these same Los Angeles Clippers in only 22 minutes on March 6, which was his only matchup with them this season.
As phenomenal as the 22-year-old looked over the last couple of weeks, he hasn’t proven at any point in his career that he can consistently be a player who scores 30 points per night over the course of a month. The Clippers ranked 13th in points allowed per game over the last few weeks, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they slowed him down.

Coward isn’t a high-volume or high-efficiency three-point shooter, having made 1.4 threes per game on 34.4 percent shooting during his rookie campaign. However, he went over in three of four games since he returned to the lineup, shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc in that time.
The Chicago Bulls play at an extremely rapid pace and don’t pay much attention to defense, creating lots of possessions and open opportunities for their opponents. They ranked 25th in made threes allowed per game and 26th in three-point percentage allowed, and I like Coward’s chances.

Green was pretty excellent recently, scoring 70 points in his last two games and going over this number in five straight contests. However, he only played two above-average defenses during that time, and one of them, the Charlotte Hornets, held him to 42.1 percent shooting.
The Celtics are not only excellent on defense, but they also play at the slowest pace in the league, creating fewer possessions and allowing their defense to get set more times than not. Green also scored 13 points on 27.8 percent shooting in his only previous matchup with the C’s on Feb. 24.
