The Jacksonville Jaguars might have only gone 4-13 in 2024, but they head into the NFL season with arguably the largest potential upside in league history thanks to Travis Hunter.
The two-way phenom and reigning Heisman trophy winner is poised to compete for both the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards during his professional season after he played 84 percent of all possible snaps at the University of Colorado last year.
Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen said that Hunter will play “80 percent of snaps or so” on offense, and they will try to get as close to that number as they can on defense. Hunter was also listed as a starting receiver and second-string cornerback on the team’s first unofficial depth chart, which was released on Monday.
As the anticipation continues to build, FanDuel Sportsbook has released special season-long prop bets specifically for Hunter during his first professional campaign. Here’s a look at all of the markets and the best Travis Hunter bets for the 2025 NFL season.

Four rookies recorded 1,000-yard receiving seasons last year: Brian Thomas Jr. (1,282), Malik Nabers (1,204), Brock Bowers (1,194), and Ladd McConkey (1,149). Hunter, meanwhile, caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns at Colorado during his final season of college. Thomas Jr. is now his teammate and just finished third in the league in receiving yards, so it’ll be up to Trevor Lawrence to spread the ball around to everyone.

On top of his 96 receptions during his junior season at Colorado, Hunter came up with four interceptions. He played a near-even split of offensive and defensive snaps (669 defensive and 687 offensive), although that could soon change, given that Ceon indicated he’ll be an offense-first player. The Jags will also play lots of excellent quarterbacks, but they have an easy finish to their campaign.

Only nine receivers had at least 10 touchdowns last year. All of them got there by catching 10+ TDs, aside from Jordan Addison, who caught nine and ran for one, meaning that none of the players had a defensive touchdown. Even though Hunter will play both ways, he’ll almost inevitably have to get close to double-digits on offense to get within range.

Hunter’s only defensive touchdown in college came during his freshman season at Jackson State University. That said, he’s more than capable of making a house call on an interception due to his game-breaking speed and elusiveness, both of which helped him become an elite receiver. The question is if he’ll spend enough time on the field to have a chance to cash this prop.

The Jags will get their season underway against the Carolina Panthers, who allowed the most points per game and were 22nd in interceptions thrown per game. Bryce Young had a strong final six weeks of last year, and Carolina’s quietly upgraded both sides of its roster. This is a tough ask for Hunter in his NFL debut, especially if the Jags ease him into playing both ways.

750+ receiving yards is a fairly low bar to clear for a player with Hunter’s receiving talent. However, only five rookies last year cleared that mark, with Marvin Harrison Jr. joining the four that broke 1,000 yards. The taller order will be achieving 5+ interceptions, which is a milestone that only nine players and one rookie (Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock) achieved last year.

With opposing defenses being forced to honor Thomas Jr., a 6-foot-4 nightmare, Hunter should draw easier cornerback matchups and be isolated on mismatches. He can be used in a variety of ways near the goal line and also has the speed to get behind the defense from any level. Although pick-sixes are far from a guarantee, Hunter’s familiarity with dodging oncoming tacklers in the open field makes him a threat to score if he can pick off the opposing QB.
