The Red Sox have been slumping after a strong start to the season, but they are getting a boost with Brayan Bello back in the rotation. The young starter has looked fantastic since his return, and we expect that trend to continue today.
Below, we will share our favorite bet for Bello’s game today and two others we will be locking in.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Rangers | +1.5 (-178) | +115 | Over 9.5 (+100) |
Red Sox | -1.5 (+130) | -135 | Under 9.5 (-120) |
Both of these teams have cooled down since their hot starts, but we trust the Red Sox to bounce back big today.
One big reason is starter Brayan Bello (2-0, 2.55 ERA, 1.19 WHIP), who will be making his third start since an injury that kept him out for the first month of the season. He has allowed just five runs over those three games (17 ⅔ innings), easily shaking off any lingering effects from his injury.
Bello will be facing a Rangers lineup that has been wildly inconsistent this season. With Corey Seager failing to regain his former MVP form, the lineup doesn’t have the pop it had just two seasons ago. With Bello pitching as well as he ever has, expect the struggles of the Texas bats to continue this afternoon.
The Rangers will have their top young arm on the mound in Jack Leiter (2-1, 4.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP). After an incredible first two starts, the 25-year-old needed a trip to the IL. He’s struggled to regain his control since returning, going 0-1 with a 9.39 ERA and 2.09 WHIP over two starts.
When you combine the Rangers' struggles at the plate, Leiter’s lack of control, and an unreliable bullpen, you have a recipe for a lopsided Red Sox win today.

Tigers | -1.5 (-110) | -178 | Over 9.5 (-115) |
Rockies | +1.5 (-110) | +150 | Under 9.5 (-105) |
Colorado is the worst team in baseball, and it's becoming more obvious every day. The lineup is bad, and injuries to Ezequiel Tovar and Thairo Estrada have made it even worse. The Rockies play mostly aging veterans and unproven prospects, resulting in a ton of losses.
Tigers starter Casey Mize (5-1, 2.70 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) will be on the mound tonight. The 28-year-old is coming off a rough start, but this season has been incredible for Detroit. While pitching at the hitter-friendly Coors Field carries its risks, Colorado doesn’t have the talent to do much damage against the 28-year-old.
Mize will start opposite Kyle Freeland (0-4, 5.70 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) tonight. The lefty broke out in 2018, but has been horrible since then. He has posted a WHIP over 1.40 in seven straight seasons and is on pace to post an ERA over 5.00 for the third consecutive year.
Considering he has an 8.53 ERA at home this season, expect his ugly season numbers to reach even higher after tonight’s start.

Blue Jays | -1.5 (+135) | -125 | Over 8.5 (-105) |
Angels | +1.5 (-160) | +105 | Under 8.5 (-115) |
These are two bad lineups, but they have enough talent to do damage against the pitchers taking the mound tonight.
On one side is Jays’ starter Chris Bassitt (2-2, 2.95 ERA, 1.18 WHIP). The veteran has strong numbers on the season, but an incredible first three starts inflate them. Since then, he has gone 0-2 with an ERA of 6.06 and a WHIP of 1.35. We expect those struggles to continue tonight against an Angels team that owns a .271 average against Bassitt.
On the other side will be LA starter Jose Soriano (2-4, 3.83 ERA, 1.43 WHIP). The 26-year-old has been a reliable starter for the Angels, but went 1-4 with a 5.67 ERA in April. The Jays' lineup has more talent than LA and has been better of late, so expect them to do just enough to help cover this total.
