Best NRFI Bets Today: Target This AL Central Matchup

The Chicago White Sox haven’t scored many runs, and they have an outstanding pitcher on the mound on Monday. The offensive and pitching combination is why I’m looking to the White Sox vs. Royals game for one of my two NRFI bets on Monday.

White Sox vs. Royals - Shane Smith vs. Cole Ragans (7:40 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-130) at Caesars Sportsbook

The Chicago White Sox aren’t the worst team in Major League Baseball, but they’re close. Chicago has won only ten games, most of their victories at home. 

The White Sox are just 3-13 on the road this season, and their offense has struggled as visitors in 2025. This is a perfect reason to target the NRFI because I don’t trust anyone on the White Sox to deliver timely hits, even if they get some foot traffic in the first inning. 

Chicago has their best pitcher on the mound, Shane Smith. Smith has been fantastic this season and is one of the bright spots for a terrible White Sox club. 

Smith has a 2.23 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 32.1 innings. Smith’s best quality is keeping the ball in the yard, allowing just one home run this season. 

A bet can die quickly by a home run, but Smith has been trustworthy. Cole Ragans has also been elite in 2025, keeping the ball in the yard.

Ragans has a 4.40 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. His excellent strikeout ability makes him a pitcher I want to bet on in the first inning. 

He can get out of trouble if he allows early walks or hits. The -130 price makes this bet very appealing.

Giants vs. Cubs - Landen Roupp vs. Matthew Boyd (7:40 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-140) at Caesars Sportsbook

The wind is blowing in at Wrigley Field on Monday, so I’m taking the NRFI in Giants vs. Cubs. The pitchers in this game leave much to be desired, but it’s tough to hit in Chicago when the wind is strong. 

Home run balls hang up in the air and stay in the yard. Don’t be fooled by the starting pitcher stats because the wind has caused the total to be posted at 7.5 and shaded to the under. 

Landen Roupp and Matthew Boyd will pitch for their respective clubs, and their stats haven't been the best. Roupp has a 5.10 ERA, but he is a strong strikeout pitcher. 

Boyd has a 2.7 ERA, but a 1.44 WHIP. He has gotten out of trouble, but there is usually foot traffic on the bases. Under normal weather circumstances, it’s hard to trust either pitcher, but the Wrigley wind makes me confident in the NRFI.

• Mets vs. Diamondbacks - Griffin Canning vs. TBD - The Mets have been fast starters this season, and should try to make an early statement against a solid Diamondbacks club. 

• Mariners vs. Athletics - Bryce Miller vs. Luis Severino - Bryce Miller hasn’t been at his best this season, and the Athletics’ offense has been better than expected.
