As the weekend beckons, I’m back with my top five NBA player prop picks for my favorite day of the week, Friday.
Cooper Flagg (49 points, 10 rebounds) and Kon Kneuppel (34 points) went toe-to-toe in a battle between top rookies and Duke prospects, one that ended in a two-point victory for the Charlotte Hornets. Dillon Brooks and Tyrese Maxey also dropped 40-balls for their respective teams, both in victories.
Tonight’s slate is stuffed with matchups, including a headlining battle between the Detroit Pistons and the Golden State Warriors late in the evening.
Here are my best NBA player prop picks and bets for Friday, Jan. 30.

George only went over this line twice in his last nine games while shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc in January. He took 7.0 three-point attempts per game during that span, but that’s well above his season average of 5.9 per game.
The 22-year-old is looking better and better, but he and the rest of the Washington Wizards are on the second night of a back-to-back against a rested Los Angeles Lakers team. LA’s perimeter defense slipped in recent weeks, but Austin Reaves’ return to the lineup could give them a shot in the arm.

The 23-year-old torched the Toronto Raptors for 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists in their only previous matchup, yet his Orlando Magic still lost. He now enters this game having gone under in three straight games while averaging 4.9 assists per game for the year.
The Raptors rank third in assists allowed per game for the year and have lots of long guards and wings who can crowd the passing lanes. They also rank 22nd in pace of play and will slow the game down, creating fewer opportunities for assists and less movement in the half-court.

Brooks just scored 40 points on 59.1 percent shooting from the field and 57.1 percent from three in last night’s decisive win against the Pistons. He’s now gone over this line in three straight games and averaged 21.0 points per game for the year.
Devin Booker is out with a calf injury, but Brooks went over in four of seven games without his All-Star teammate in the lineup, including the last three games. He scored at least 26 points in every game this week and is facing a Cavaliers team that is totally average in points allowed per game, and I like his chances to cash the over.

Valanciunas certainly isn’t the player he’s filling in for, Nikola Jokic, but he is a big body who can run dribble hand-offs with Jamal Murray and find teammates cutting to the basket. He handed out three helpers in last night’s win over the Brooklyn Nets and is playing solid minutes now that he’s back in the rotation.
The Los Angeles Clippers have really buckled down on defense amid their current winning streak, and they also play at a glacial pace. With Ivica Zubac defending the interior, I could see Valanciunas being used in the two-man game to lure Zubac away from the basket, and I can also see him having to pick up his dribble and kick out the ball due to how congested the paint will be.

Curry went under this line in three of his last four games and “only” made 4.0 threes per game in January. Jimmy Butler’s absence means that Curry will get more shooting opportunities, but he’s also fallen below his usual standard of at least 40 percent three-point shooting, only making 39 percent of his attempts this year.
The Pistons will be angry after their loss last night, and they rank seventh in both made threes allowed per game and three-point percentage allowed. Curry also went under this line in both matchups with the Pistons last year, and Ausar Thompson should headline a cast of capable defenders asked to trail him.
