The Indiana Pacers stole another road game in their incredible playoff run, but the Oklahoma City Thunder are ready to respond. The Thunder dominated most of Game 1, save for a dreadful fourth quarter that saw them get outscored by ten points. The Thunder have responded to losses this postseason with dominant victories, a +16.6 point differential in three post-loss wins. Gilgeous-Alexander stayed on track with scoring in Game 1, putting up 38, compared to his 39.0 regular season average against the Pacers.
The Thunder haven’t lost consecutive games this postseason, so expect them to respond with their signature two-way play on Sunday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will lead the way while they seek more from Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren.

The Indiana Pacers continued their fairytale playoff run and came out of Game 1 with a win over the NBA’s top regular season team. As star men Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam said post-match, the Pacers are going to get greedy. A Game 2 upset to push their lead to 0-2 is very possible, given the quality of their offense.
Trailing for most of Game 1, the Indiana Pacers bided their time for the right moment to strike. They scored 111 points on 47.6% shooting with 18 threes on 46.2% from deep. They were relentless on the glass, collecting 56 rebounds to the Thunder’s 39. To find a win in Game 2, the Pacers must take care of the ball, as they committed 25 turnovers to 24 assists on the night.
No one player dominated Game 1 for the Pacers, but Tyrese Haliburton took headlines with 14 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and the game-winning shot. Pascal Siakam led the team in scoring with 19 points and 10 rebounds. But the Indiana role players stood out, as the Pacers boasted six double-digit scorers and a 49-to-28 bench-scoring victory.
Indiana has used the postseason to improve its standing against the spread, putting up a 48-48-3 ATS Record, now sixth in the NBA. The Pacers own a 50.0% cover percentage, a +2.5 margin of victory, and a +0.8 ATS +/- this season. While they hit under the total (230.0) in Game 1, they covered the spread (+10.0) and won outright (+390).

The Oklahoma City Thunder dropped Game 1 for the second time this postseason. After surrendering home-court advantage, the Thunder are desperate to level the series before it shifts to Indiana. All eyes are on the Thunder supporting cast, as Gilgeous-Alexander did more than his fair share before the team’s Game 1 collapse.
The Thunder played quite well through most of Game 1, putting 110 points on 39.8% shooting and 36.7% from three-point range. They need to sort out their three-point defense, where they allowed 18 made threes to just 11 of their own. But the ball needs to move for Oklahoma to stave off Indiana’s offense, as they assisted just 13 times on 39 field goals.
NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed out in Game 1, putting up 38 points, five rebounds, and three made threes on 46.7% shooting and with just 7-of-8 shooting from the line. Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren combined for just 23 points on 8-of-28 shooting, and more will be asked of them in Game 2. Cason Wallace replaced Isaiah Hartenstein in the starting lineup for Game 1, but we’ll see if Daigneault returns to the big man when Game 2 tips off.
Oklahoma City was one of the top performers against the spread this season, putting up a 60-36-4 ATS Record, the best mark in the NBA. They have a 62.5% cover percentage, a +12.1 margin of victory, and a +3.2 ATS +/- this season. The Thunder hit under the total (230.0) in Game 1, failed to cover the spread (-10.0), and lost outright (-480).
Oklahoma City Thunder Injury Report: (G) Nikola Topic (Knee) continues to rehabilitate from a knee injury sustained before the 2024-25 NBA season began.
