The Cincinnati Bengals have quarterback Joe Burrow under contract for another four years, but prediction platforms are offering markets for who his next team will be.
Burrow, who suffered the third major injury of his six-year career this year, was often despondent when facing the media. He even said that he “[hadn’t] gotten that joy out of [football] that I used to", leading fans and pundits to speculate if he could retire from the game he regularly dominated.
Many teams would be after Burrow in the event that he became available. It would also be a devastating loss for a Bengals team that made the Super Bowl in the second year of his career and is desperate to get back.

In only eight games this past season, Burrow, 29, threw for 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while the Bengals went 5-3 with him in the field. However, they failed to make the playoffs for the fourth time in his six years, greatly underperforming the usual standard for a consensus top-five quarterback in the NFL.
Burrow is not on record with a trade request or serious contemplation of retirement, no matter how distressing his press conferences were.
Despite that, prediction platform Kalshi is offering odds on where Burrow will play football next season. The leader with 85 percent probability is the Bengals or retirement, followed by the Los Angeles Rams at 10 percent, and the Minnesota Vikings at six percent.
Interestingly, The Spun’s Chris Rosvoglou said that “CBS Sports reported mid-season that Cincinnati wants a ‘Ricky Williams-type’ trade offer from teams interested in Burrow. The New Orleans Saints sent all of their picks from the 1999 NFL Draft, as well as two of their top three picks from the 2000 NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins, just so they [could] select Williams.”
The trade package that was floated would send Burrow to the NFC North, with J.J. McCarthy, Jonathan Greenard, and two first-round picks coming back the other way.
However, Bengals running back Chase Brown already poured cold water on that proposal.
“Joe’s not going anywhere,” he told CBS Sports this week. “I think that was totally blown out of proportion. It was definitely a good talking point for people. It gave the media a lot to talk about and probably made [Burrow’s] Twitter notifications go off, but Joe’s not going anywhere.”

The team that is second in odds, the Rams, presents an intriguing possibility.
LA's incumbent quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is the leader in NFL MVP odds and would become just the third 37-year-old to win an MVP, as well as tie the league record for the oldest first-time MVP. Stafford dazzled in his last appearance in the NFC Championship Game, but he came up short against the Seattle Seahawks.
While the gunslinger is at the peak of his powers, he has also taken a ton of hits and dealt with a plethora of injuries. Rumors swirled in past offseasons that he could ride off into the sunset, which would put the Rams in need of a replacement quarterback.
The Rams have tons of young talent on their defense, future draft capital, and the 13th pick in the upcoming draft. They also coined the phrase “f— them picks” during their run to the Super Bowl in 2022, showing they aren’t afraid to part ways with assets in trades.
Despite that, it’s tough to see Burrow anywhere but Cincinnati, especially since they paid his top wide receivers.
