If the Raiders were going to win a game late in the season to stop a losing streak that’s now at 10 games, it was going to be last week against the Giants. Not only did they lose to a team that also entered the game 2-13, but it wasn’t even close. Six of their last seven losses have come by at least seven points, with most being multiple-score games, making them hard to trust, even as a home underdog.

Granted, the Chiefs aren’t much better. They’ve lost five in a row and seven of their last eight games, on top of being 4-8-1 against the spread as the favorite this season. But they still have a top-10 defense and a lot of pride. Since Kansas City manhandled the Raiders 31-0 earlier this season and has won seven straight road games against the Raiders, it’s okay to trust the Chiefs to win and cover.

While this is a low number, points will surely be at a premium in this matchup. The Chiefs have only hit the over in four of their 16 games this season. Naturally, things have gotten worse since losing Patrick Mahomes, but even before he got hurt, the Kansas City offense was sputtering. Granted, the Las Vegas defense is atrocious. But the Chiefs have been held to 13 points or less in four straight games.

On the other hand, Kansas City’s defense continues to play at a high level. Despite being 1-7 in their last eight games, the Chiefs are only allowing 22.9 points per game during that stretch. That unit should have a good game against the worst offense in the NFL. The Raiders average just 14.2 points per game, and they’ve been held to 10 points or less five times during their current 10-game losing streak. Neither team should light up the scoreboard, making the under a good play in this matchup.
