Best Texans vs. Chiefs Prop Bets: Kansas City Must Win for Any Playoff Chances

  • The Chiefs can’t afford to lose another game and make the playoffs

  • Houston has won four consecutive games

  • The Chiefs are coming off a loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving

The Chiefs need to win the remainder of their games to make the playoffs. While anything is possible, they have a tough road ahead, and it begins with the Texans in prime time.

The Texans have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes will be prepared. Therefore, we should see plenty of offense in this contest, setting up a few appealing player props.

Patrick Mahomes Over 21.5 Rushing Yards (-115) at Fanatics Sportsbook

Patrick Mahomes isn’t known for elite speed, but he’s one of the most effective rushing quarterbacks when it comes to extending drives. Whenever Kansas City’s season feels like it’s on the line, Mahomes seems to create something with his legs.

He’ll likely need to run often in this matchup. Houston’s defense is relentless and will send heavy pressure all night.

If there’s any quarterback you trust to escape collapsing pockets and turn broken plays into positive yardage, it’s Mahomes.

Mahomes is averaging 29 rushing yards per game in 2025, including a 66-yard outing against Philadelphia. He has cleared this number in eight of 12 games.

With the Chiefs lacking a strong run game outside of Kareem Hunt, this game sets up perfectly for him to run the ball.

Nico Collins Over 5.5 Receptions (-110) at Fanatics Sportsbook

Sunday Night Football is the perfect stage to back your star wideout, and Nico Collins fits that description. He’s one of the most dynamic receivers in the league and draws a favorable matchup against a struggling Chiefs secondary.

Trent McDuffie will likely guard Collins throughout the night, but he hasn’t played his best football recently. The Texans should build their game plan around feeding Collins early and often.

Collins has 57 catches for 795 yards and four touchdowns this season, averaging 5.2 receptions per game. Notably, he’s been even better on the road. With Kansas City boasting an elite run defense, Houston may lean heavily on the passing game.

Collins should see enough volume to bring in at least six catches.

Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown (+120) at Fanatics Sportsbook

Rashee Rice has quickly reestablished himself as one of the best playmakers in the league, and Kansas City needs him to step up again this week. Mahomes has force-fed him the ball since his return from injury, and the chemistry has been undeniable.

Rice has five touchdowns in just six games this season. Last week against Dallas, he posted eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns, showing how much the Chiefs rely on him in high-leverage situations.

Kansas City hasn’t gotten consistent production from its run game in the red zone, making Rice the primary scoring option near the goal line. His yards-after-catch ability also gives him multiple paths to find the end zone.

Mahomes will look his way all game, making Rice a strong anytime touchdown pick against Houston.
