Tua Tagovailoa’s future is suddenly one of the most talked-about quarterback questions in the league, and many experts are pinning him to the Colts in 2026. Indianapolis needs a quarterback to bridge the gap before they take a rookie, and Tagovailoa could be the perfect fit.
The New York Jets are also a potential fit for Tagovailoa, as they are really in need of a starter. Justin Fields didn’t work, and the team is hungry for wins, so it would make sense to rebuild with a veteran.

There have been many insiders linking Tagovailoa to the Colts. From a football perspective, the fit makes sense.
Indianapolis has quietly built one of the more stable offensive environments in the AFC. They have a strong offensive line, a solid running game, and they play indoors, which is needed for a quarterback like Tagovailoa.
Tua thrives when he can get the ball out quickly, trust his reads, and let playmakers do the work after the catch. That style aligns well with what the Colts want to do offensively.
If Indianapolis is looking for a quarterback who can raise the floor of the offense immediately and operate efficiently within structure, Tagovailoa checks those boxes. The Colts want to run the ball, and won’t ask any quarterback to be a hero.
On paper, New York has the pieces to be a contender right now, but the franchise is a perennial loser. The defense is good enough to win games on its own, and the offense has talent at the skill positions.
New York has lacked stability at quarterback, but I’m not sold on Tagovailoa being the answer. He is a veteran, but he struggles in the cold. When this is combined with a bad franchise, it’s not a good fit in my mind.
Nevertheless, the Jets are pursuing Tagovailoa and looking at the draft for a potential quarterback.
The Jets can use Tua in an offense with capable weapons, lean on the defense, and ask him to manage games while hitting explosive plays when they’re there. Yet, their offensive line is bad, and this could hurt his skillset, especially with his concussion history.
The Jets are the secondary option for Tua’s home in 2026 on various prediction markets like Kalshi.

There is still a solid chance that Tagovailoa stays with the Dolphins. While Tua succeeded in Miami, there are questions about his durability, long-term commitment, and whether the Dolphins believe he can take them deep into the postseason.
Tagovailoa can work in Miami, but he needs to gel with the new coaching staff.
Kalshi’s numbers suggest Tagovailoa will be playing outside of Miami. Indianapolis feels like the cleanest football fit, sitting at 97% right now. The Jets are second at 55% and Miami is third at 40%.
Based on Indianapolis’ draft position, they will likely hit the open market for a quarterback, and this points to Tua.
