After taking Memorial Day off, most of the WNBA will see action tonight as ten teams will take part in five games. Of course, with so many games on deck, bettors will have hundreds of player props to go through if they want to review them all. That’s where we come in.
We’ve done a deep dive into today’s busy WNBA schedule to come up with our ‘WNBA Player Props and Best Bets’ list for Tuesday, May 27.
The fact that she has cleared 14.5 points in one of four games gave me reason to pause. But she scored 10+ in the other three games, and this time she’ll benefit from playing one of the league’s worst defenses in the Sun (No. 11, 83 points per game).
With the stage set for a breakout performance against a bad defense, Bueckers will go OVER her total.
Golden State is actually playing pretty solid defense to date, allowing 77 points per game, which is good enough to rank third in the WNBA. So, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Valkyries keeping a lid on Britney Stewart and Sabrina Ionesco.
But New York has too many weapons, and Golden State will not be able to cover everyone.
Cloud leads the Liberty with 18.7 points per game. I don’t think she’ll match that number tonight. But I don’t see any reason to believe she will score under 12.5 points in this game.
Magbegor scored more than 10 points for the first time this season in her last game, vs. the Aces. Otherwise, she scored two, seven, and six points. Against a team with a solid defense like Minnesota, I doubt she’ll have another breakout game tonight.
Seattle has come alive since getting embarrassed vs. Phoenix in the season opener. The defense has played better, holding two teams to 70 and 71 points before letting the Aces put up 82 on Sunday. But they scored 102, so that was okay.
Ogwumike is certainly capable of scoring 20+ points on any given night. Atlanta’s defense is not terrible, but I’m not confident they can slow Ogwumike enough to keep her under 20.
If you believe in patterns, then this bet may not be a good idea. Why? Because Plum has alternated big scoring nights with nights she doesn’t score as much. In her five games played to date, she has scored 37, 18, 25, 16, and 28 points.
But her lesser nights (18 and 16 points) were against teams with strong defenses. Atlanta’s defense is not bad, but it certainly doesn’t qualify as strong. With a chance to improve the team’s record to .500, look for Plum to put on a show today.
After watching her blow up with 17 boards in the season opener, I was certainly ready to buy into her going OVER 13.5 in her last two games. She, much to my chagrin, pulled down 12, which could be why her total is starting ot 12.5.
But she’ll be facing a Phoenix team that ranks among the worst in the league in rebounding (No. 11, 32.8 per/game), and could be someone that the Sky can actually beat. To that end, the Sky will need their best rebounder to do what she does.
If she does (and I think she will), Reese will go well OVER 12.4 rebounds.
