Best WNBA Prop Bets August 8

New York Liberty vs. Dallas Wings

Paige Bueckers, OVER 27.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-110) at FanDuel

Bueckers has been getting better throughout the season and has become the closest thing to a consistent scoring threat that the Wings have. She’s averaging 18.6 points per game, easily the best amongst rookies and seventh best in the WNBA. Since the All-Star break, she’s averaged 19.2.

So, that means she just needs to get nine rebounds/assists, which she did in six of her last eight games. Coincidentally, she’s gone OVER this total in six of her last eight games including two vs. the Liberty.

Sabrina Ionescu, UNDER 2.5 Made Threes (-144) at FanDuel

This is kind of a weird one. The Dallas Wings have allowed opponents to hit 37% of their three point attempts this season and 37.1% since the break—both last in the league. But in the two games vs. New York, Ionescu made just 25% of her attempts (1-5, 1-3).

Ionescu has been shooting 31.5% from behind the arc this season and 32.7% since the break. She has made 3+ just once in her last six games and twice in eight since the break.

Washington Mystics vs. Minnesota Lynx

Kayla McBride, UNDER 2.5 Made Threes (-106) at FanDuel

My first thought was to go with the OVER here. Afterall, she has made 3+ in four of six games since the break, including an 8-10 last weekend vs. the Aces in Vegas. But in two previous games against the Mystics, owners of the No. 1 three-point defense this season (31%), she went 2-4 and 0-7.

She had a hot hand last weekend but went 1-5 vs. Seattle on Tuesday. Don’t count on her to warm up from behind the arc tonight.

Alanna Smith, OVER 11.5 Points (-105) at Caesars

In the first game without Collier, Smith had the opportunity to put up some points, by taking ten shots on the day. But she only went 2-10 from the court and scored six points. She is too good on defensive not to play her. If she gets similar usage in this game,  chances are she goes OVER 11.5.

Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces

A’ja Wilson, UNDER 35.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-104) at FanDuel

I thought about going with the UNDER on her point total (22.5) since she has not scored more than 20 points vs. the Storm in three games this season. But, while she hasn’t been a constant force of nature like she was last season, Wilson can explode for 30+ on any given night.

She scored 24+ in three of eight games since the break which also happens to be the games where she went OVER this combo TOTAL. But the price on the UNDER for the point total was -122 making the combo the bet with more value.

Chelsea Gray, UNDER 9.5 Points (-118) at FanDuel

Gray is averaging 11 points per game this season, but that’s a mark she has reached just once in her last ten games (vs. Golden State, Aug. 3). In three games vs. Seattle’s tough defense, she scored 7, 10, and 8 points. She’s averaged eight points per game since the break.

With the offense primarily moving through Wilson, Jackie Young, and Jewell Loyd, Gray often slips through the cracks. Don’t expect much from her in this game.
