At long last, we finally get to see the two most talented teams square off tonight. The New York Yankees will be heading West to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. This matchup also brings us the two top MVP candidates in Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
White Sox | +1.5 (-110) | +185 | Over 9 (-105) |
Orioles | -1.5 (-110) | -225 | Under 9 (-115) |
We spent a lot of team debating taking the White Sox moneyline tonight, but determined that we are still unwilling to trust rookie starter Sean Burke (3-5, 4.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP). The highly-touted prospect has been lights out in May (2.67 ERA), but has faced some bad lineups. His lone challenge came against the Cubs, who tagged him for six runs (5 ER) on seven hits and five walks over 4 2/3 innings.
We believe that Cubs game was more than a fluke. Burke is walking way too many batters, with 19 over his five starts this month. He’s gotten the benefit of facing bad lineups that swing on bad pitches, but that won’t be the case tonight.
The Orioles have been bad at the plate to start 2025, but they are starting to finally get hot. Baltimore is averaging 4.8 runs per game over the last week, led by the hot bats of Jackson Holliday, Ramon Urias, and Dylan Carlson.
Orioles’ slugger Ryan Mountcastle has also been steadily raising his average. While his power hasn’t been there yet, it will surely show up soon as 5-for-9 over his last two games.
The White Sox have been getting much more from their offense over the last week. They are batting .266 with a .814 OPS, which are far higher than usual for this team. We like them to keep that momentum going tonight against Zach Eflin (3-2, 5.40 ERA, 1.17 WHIP), who has allowed 12 runs over his start two starts (10 1/3).

Angels | +1.5 (-165) | +122 | Over 8 (-115) |
Guardians | -1.5 (+140) | -145 | Under 8 (-105) |
Both of these teams enter tonight’s game hungry for a win, but we see the Angels coming out on top.
The reason we are locking in this moneyline bet is Cleveland’s pitching. They’ll start off with Luis Ortiz (2-5, 4.73 ERA, 1.43 WHIP), who has struggled as a full-time member of the rotation. His control has been a mess, leading to far too many hits and walks being issued. While he has been limiting runs, it hasn’t stopped the Guardians from losing three of his last four starts.
Once Ortiz exits, he’ll turn things over to a Cleveland bullpen that has been unreliable. That will give the Angels plenty of chances to score some runs, which Jose Soriano (3-5, 3.73 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) and a red-hot Angels bullpen will protect en route to a win.

Yankees | -1.5 (+122) | -135 | Over 8.5 (-130) |
Dodgers | +1.5 (-145) | +115 | Under 8.5 (+110) |
This series gives us a potential preview of the 2025 World Series as the Yankees and Dodgers square off. We see Los Angeles having the better team, but they’ll be at a significant disadvantage on the mound tonight.
New York will have Max Fried (7-0, 1.29 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) starting tonight. The 31-year-old has thrived in his first season with the Yankees, leading all of baseball in record and ERA. He’s been consistent all season, and that won’t change tonight against a Dodgers team that owns a measly .203 average against him over 187 at-bats.
LA will also have a 31-year-old on the mound in Tony Gonsolin (2-1, 4.68 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). The veteran righty regressed badly in 2023 and has yet to turn things around. His last two starts show he isn’t close to figuring things out, as he combined to allow eight runs on 11 hits and eight walks over nine innings.
Even if Gonsolin can keep this game close, the back end of the bullpen has been a nightmare between key injuries and Tanner Scott continuing to implode.
Fried will keep an incredible Dodgers’ lineup quiet tonight before he turns things over to a Yankee bullpen that has been lights out lately.
