NBA Opening Night is out of the way, clearing the rest of the league to get back into action for the first time in the 2025-26 season.
Luka Doncic was the leading scorer in the league’s return, but it was the Golden State Warriors who got the last laugh over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder also went to double-overtime in an instant classic, setting the stage for another gripping year of hoops.
As numerous NBA stars return to the court, here are my best player prop picks and bets for Wednesday.

Ball only averaged 3.3 assists in 22.2 minutes per game last year, but he has a career average of 5.8, and is known for his excellent court vision. The Cleveland Cavaliers also had one of the most efficient offenses in league history last year and were ninth in assists per game while playing at a quick tempo.
Although he’s a newcomer, Ball’s willingness to run in transition and ability to find the open man, combined with the Cavs’ shooting and spacing, are a perfect match. These odds opened for plus-money and are falling quickly, and I expect his line to increase as the year progresses.

The NBA world is rightfully excited about Flagg’s NBA debut, but I’d like to issue a word of warning to all bettors: His opportunities could be limited. Flagg is not only playing an unnatural position at the three, but he’s competing for minutes and touches in the paint, his preferred area of operation, with Caleb Martin, PJ Washington, Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Powell.
On top of the congestion in the paint that will inevitably be created, Flagg also has two backcourt players, D’Angelo Russell and Klay Thompson, who never met a shot they didn’t like. Flagg never scored more than 13 points in the preseason and will likely struggle to get to his favorite spots because of Dallas’ enormous size.

Edgecombe brings exactly what his name states, an edge, to Philadelphia. The third pick in the draft is willing to run in transition, cut off the ball, and do the dirty work needed to score “cheap” points, but he’s also skilled enough to break down defenders off the dribble or nail a late close-out three.
The 20-year-old put up 26 points on 55.6 percent shooting in his final preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Boston Celtics are also nowhere near as capable of defending smaller players as they were just a year ago with Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, and Al Horford all being willing switch-defenders who no longer play in Boston.

Bane figures to have one of the most seamless transitions of any player joining a new roster this year because of his skill set—but one of the most underrated components of his game is his ability to handle the ball and make decisions on the fly.
The sharpshooter averaged 5.3 assists per game last year and 5.5 the year before. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are highly capable scorers, and Bane’s perimeter gravity should create easier looks for his teammates, especially off of his passes.

Holiday’s scoring average took a massive hit in Boston as he fell from 19.3 points per game during his final season in Milwaukee to just 11.1 last year. One of the biggest reasons for that was the decline in his three-point shooting, which dropped to 35.3 percent.
Now on the Trail Blazers, Holiday should get lots of shots with Scott Henderson sidelined by an injury. The leading scorers are also Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija, both of whom are nowhere near the same scorers as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and who could be held under 20 points per game by the end of the year.
