The NBA is entering its first weekend of the 2025-26 NBA season, and I’m here to share my top player prop picks for Saturday.
Luka Doncic was the leading scorer on Friday night, racking up 49 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in a 128-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Giannis Antetokounmpo also dominated the box score with 31 points, 20 assists, and seven rebounds in the Milwaukee Bucks' 122-116 win against the Toronto Raptors.
As we transition to the weekend, the Saturday slate presents a total of five matchups to pick from.
Here are my best NBA player prop bets and picks for Saturday, Oct. 25.

Giddey only went 1-2 from downtown in the Chicago Bulls’ season opener, a 115-111 win against the Detroit Pistons. His miss was a hilarious shot that completely missed the backboard, confirming that Giddey hasn’t undergone a transformation into a bona fide sniper (a la Aaron Gordon).
Giddey averaged exactly 1.5 made threes per game on 37.8 percent long-range shooting last year, but he’s only a 33 percent shooter from downtown for his career. The Orlando Magic are a team that is built on defensive principles, and Giddey will only shoot the three-ball if he’s left wide open.

The ever-consistent Gilgeous-Alexander, the NBA MVP a year ago, scored 35 points in his season debut and 55 points against the Indiana Pacers in a Finals rematch on Thursday. Despite his hot scoring start, he’s only shooting 47.4 percent from the field (below his usual standard) and could be exhausted heading into Saturday’s contest.
Both of the Thunder’s first two games of the year went to double-overtime. That’s quite the adjustment for a player and a team, no matter how youthful they are, that hadn’t been playing professional basketball since early summer. The Hawks also have solid defensive personnel, and I believe they will keep Gilgeous-Alexander under this line.

Edgecombe was outstanding in his first bit of professional action, scoring the most points in an NBA debut since Wilt Chamberlain. The third pick in the draft scored 34 points on 50 percent shooting, including going 5-13 (38.5 percent) from downtown in a comeback win against the Boston Celtics.
Despite taking and making lots of threes on Wednesday, Edgecombe is more of a slasher and transition player than he is a long-range sniper. He only shot 34 percent from long range during his lone season at Baylor, not to mention that Joel Embiid only scoring four points greatly limited his effectiveness and increased the opportunities for Edgecombe.

Mathurin is expected to take on a large role of the offense with Tyrese Haliburton presumably out for the season with an Achilles tear he suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals in the summer. He got his season off to a hot start, going for 36 points and 11 rebounds in 45 minutes in the loss to the Thunder on Thursday.
Despite being a 6-foot-5 guard, Mathurin is a terrific and willing rebounder. He averaged 5.3 boards per game in less than 30 minutes per contest last year, and he has a great opportunity to regularly exceed this line if he continues to play 33-35 minutes per game.

Johnson only went 1-6 from long range in his Denver Nuggets debut on Thursday, a 137-131 loss to the Golden State Warriors in overtime. His teammate, Aaron Gordon, went 10-11 from downtown and will firmly be on the Phoenix Suns’ scouting report, potentially giving him more space to shoot on Saturday.
Johnson is a true knockdown shooter and isn’t afraid to step into his shots. He is going to be fed terrific looks from Nikola Jokic due to the gravity that he and Jamal Murray demand, and if Gordon continues shooting the ball the way he has, it will make Johnson, a career 39.1 percent shooter from three, even more lethal.
