As Hump Day descends, I’ve made my selections of the best NBA player prop bets for the Wednesday night action.
The Philadelphia 76ers stormed back in the fourth quarter behind 39 points and 10 assists from Tyrese Maxey last night, helping them improve to 4-0 on the season. Jalen Brunson (36 points) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (37 points, eight rebounds, seven assists) also duked it out in a showdown that went to the Bucks, 121-111.
Wednesday’s games include a rematch between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves, an Eastern Conference battle between the young Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons, and more.
Here are my top NBA player prop bets and picks for Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Baarrett has had a productive start to the season, averaging 21.5 points per game on 61.8 percent shooting and going over this line in three of four games. He also tied a season-high with 25 points in his last time on the court as he prepares to face the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets are known for their terrific defense, but while they like to play at a glacial pace, the Raptors look to push the ball. Houston also hasn’t been great at defending the paint, and with Barrett being excellent in transition, he has a path to getting over this line.

Queta went under in two of four outings, but those were his two most recent ones. He’s only attempting 6.3 field goals and 1.8 free throws per game in 23.8 minutes of action per night, and he’s about to face the class of the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs’ double-big lineup of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen offers them terrific interior defense, and Queta is already limited to scoring off of alley-oops and offensive rebounds. I don’t expect him to get many looks at the cup, particularly with Boston playing at the second-slowest tempo in the league.

McDaniels isn’t a score-first player by nature, but he has a history of becoming a volume shooter whenever top players on the Timberwolves are out. That’s why I like him to go over on Wednesday night, seeing as Anthony Edwards will be gone for at least one week with a hamstring injury.
McDaniels put up 25 points on a team-high 16 field goal attempts in Monday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets. The Los Angeles Lakers are riddled with injuries themselves and are only 18th in defensive rating, which gives McDaniels a platform to have a strong night as a scorer.

Nesmith is a bona fide knockdown shooter, having shot better than 41 percent from deep the last two seasons and beginning the 2025-26 campaign by knocking down 47.6 percent of his triples. However, he’s getting one of the worst matchups imaginable against the Dallas Mavericks.
Because the Mavs utilize an enormous lineup, they’re able to cover more ground than most teams in the league. That’s led to them allowing the second-fewest three-point attempts and makes per game despite only being 12th in defensive rating.

Banchero and the Magic are still working out how to maximize the talent in their new-look lineup, which now includes sharpshooter Desmond Bane. Banchero handed out five assists his last time on the court, but he only had one in each of the three games immediately before that.
The Magic are preparing to face the Pistons, who made a name for themselves last year because of their terrific defense. Though the season is still young, they’re already second in assists allowed per game and eighth in defensive rating, which means there shouldn’t be tons of opportunities for Banchero to go over.
