NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Luka Doncic & More Picks for Saturday, Nov. 8

The weekend is only just beginning, but I’ve taken the liberty of picking my best NBA player prop picks in the NBA for Saturday.

Yesterday’s In-Season Tournament action was highlighted by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s show-stopping, 41-point, 15-rebound, nine-assist performance in a win over the Chicago Bulls. Isaiah Hartenstein was also outstanding in a win against the Sacramento Kings, putting up 33 points, 19 rebounds, and three blocks to lead the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder to a 9-1 record through their first 10 games.

Saturday’s action features a matchup between two recent Finals participants, the Indiana Pacers and the Denver Nuggets, as well as matchups from coast-to-coast.

Here are my top five NBA player prop bets for Saturday, Nov. 8.

NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Luka Doncic & More Picks for Saturday, Nov. 8

Carlton Carrington under 5.5 assists (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

It’s been tough sledding for Carrington as a scorer, seeing as he went 2-12 from the field last night and failed to hit double-digit points in five straight games. He’s been able to remain on the court because of his playmaking, which included him going over this line in three straight games and handing out 11 helpers last night.

The Dallas Mavericks allowed the most points in the paint per game, yet they are only 12th in assists allowed per game. I believe Carrington could be in for a better day as a scorer, but I also don’t expect him to continue this level of playmaking, especially considering he went under this line in six straight games to open the season.

Matas Buzelis over 15.5 points (-132) at FanDuel sportsbook

The Cleveland Cavaliers are sixth in defensive rating and seventh in points allowed per game, largely thanks to their strong interior defense and their double-big lineup. However, the Chicago Bulls are fifth in offensive rating and have created lots of good offense, with Josh Giddey playing a major part in that.

The Cavs don’t have a perfect defensive matchup for Buzelis, whose slithery and athletic 6-foot-8 frame allows him to create a variety of angles at the rim. He also shot 50 percent from three to start November and dropped 20 points last night despite going under in three games before that.

Aaron Gordon over 5.5 rebounds (-114) at FanDuel sportsbook

Gordon has been terrific this year, averaging 20.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on 54.6 percent shooting from the field and 46.3 percent from three. While he only grabbed three rebounds last night, he only played 24 minutes in a comfortable win over the Golden State Warriors, and he went over this line in three of four games just before that.

The Nuggets are taking on a Pacers squad whose tallest starter is only 6-foot-8, and that ranks dead last in rebounds allowed per game. Gordon should be able to impose his physical will on Indy's player and come up with at least six boards, and potentially many more.

Luka Doncic over 4.5 threes (+112) at FanDuel sportsbook

Doncic’s projected scoring line is over/under 35.5 points, which shows that the oddsmakers are expecting the Slovenian to have a strong night scoring the ball. He went under this line in back-to-back games, but he also attempted at least 10 threes in every game this season, and went over in two of his last four.

With Austin Reaves in jeopardy of missing the contest, Doncic should be asked to play heavy minutes. The Hawks are fourth in three-point percentage allowed, but also just 15th in three-pointers surrendered per game, and Doncic is going to get his shots.

Deni Avdija over 7.5 rebounds (+114) at FanDuel sportsbook

The Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers play at the fastest and third-fastest paces in the NBA, meaning that this should be a high-possession game. That means more shots, more assists, and, most importantly, more rebounds to go around.

Avdija is arguably the best player on the Trail Blazers, so he will get to play plenty of minutes. He also came up with 10 rebounds in his last game against the Thunder on Wednesday and went over in two of his last four, while the Heat are only 17th in rebounds allowed per game.
