NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Stephen Curry & More Picks for Sunday, Nov. 16

Yes, the weekend is coming to an end, but I’ve picked the best NBA player props for Sunday to help close it out with a bang.

As I so often say in these recaps, last night belonged to Luka Doncic, who dropped 41 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks. Nikola Jokic also had a 27-point triple-double to help the Denver Nuggets take down the Minnesota Timberwolves, improving to 10-2 in the process.

Even with NFL Sunday lurking in the background, there’s plenty of action throughout the day. That includes the headliner, a battle between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Clippers in TD Garden.

Here are my top five NBA player prop bets for Sunday, Nov. 16.

Jaylen Brown under 5.5 rebounds (-106) at FanDuel sportsbook

Browns, who is serving as the Celtics’ primary option amid Jayson Tatum’s absence, went over this line in back-to-back games… but he also went under in six of his last nine games. The Clippers, meanwhile, allowed the eighth-fewest rebounds per game and have plenty of size in their rotation.

Even more reason to bet the under is that the Clippers and Celtics play at the two slowest paces in the entire league. Less time running in transition and getting up quick shots means a lower availability of rebounds, which should help Brown deliver and cash an under.

Julian Champagnie over 1.5 threes (-118) at FanDuel sportsbook

The San Antonio Spurs’ sharpshooting forward has been terrific from beyond the arc in November, making 2.6 threes per game on 40 percent shooting. He also drilled four of nine attempts in his last game and went over this line in five of his last six outings.

The Sacramento Kings are 26th in defensive rating, which is a reflection of their lack of commitment to the defensive side of the game. They’re also 16th in made threes allowed per game and 22nd in three-point percentage allowed, and with Champagnie’s hot hand, this is a low line for him to clear.

Alexandre Sarr over 19.5 points (+100) at FanDuel sportsbook

Sarr appears to be taking the second-year leap, having averaged 19.1 points and 8.6 rebounds on 53.1 percent shooting, despite the Washington Wizards’ losing start to the year. The 7-footer also scored 25 points against the Houston Rockets’ intense defense his last time on the court and beat this line in three of his last five games.

The Brooklyn Nets have the worst defensive rating in the NBA and allowed the third-most points per game. The Nets like to play at a glacial tempo, but that should be counteracted by the Wizards’ inclination to push the ball with pace whenever they get the opportunity.

Stephen Curry under 27.5 points (-106) at FanDuel sportsbook

Curry was nothing short of sensational during his last couple of appearances on the court, scoring 46 and then 49 points in a pair of matchups against the San Antonio Spurs. He averaged 29.1 points per game for the season, yet there’s reason to believe that he will cash the under.

Even despite his explosive outings, Curry is shooting a career-worst 39.1 percent from beyond the arc. He also cashed the under in five of six games before this week, and it’s reasonable to expect a less intense approach against the hapless New Orleans Pelicans than the one he had against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, the second of those being a Play-In Tournament matchup.

Matas Buzelis over 14.5 points (-118) at FanDuel sportsbook

Buzelis has taken noticeable steps across the board, improving his averages in scoring, rebounding, assisting, blocking, stealing, and shooting efficiency at all three levels. He averaged 14.9 points per game and dropped 21 on 50 percent shooting in his last outing, part of him going over in three of his last four games.

The Chicago Bulls are preparing to face the Utah Jazz, who just so happen to rank 24th in defensive rating and 25th in points allowed per game. Buzelis’ only game against a team that allowed more points per game was against the Kings, and he scored 27 on 61.1 percent shooting.
