I’m sure it was difficult for anyone to get any work done after the holiday, and now that the weekend has mercifully arrived, I’m here to share my best NBA player prop picks for Saturday.

Jalen Johnson was electric last night, recording 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists in the Atlanta Hawks upset victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, Desmond Bane’s 37 points and eight rebounds were enough to take down the red-hot Detroit Pistons despite Cade Cunningham’s 39-point triple-double.

Turning the page to Saturday, the Minnesota Timberwolves will get a real test from the Boston Celtics, before the Pistons take on the Miami Heat in a battle between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Naz Reid under 13.5 points (-128) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Reid has taken a step back this season, averaging fewer minutes, points, rebounds, and assists per game than he did last year on worse field goal, three-point, and free throw shooting percentages. He went over this line in four of his last six games, but he also only scored 12 points in his last outing.

The Boston Celtics play at a glacial pace and allow the fifth-fewest points per game. They’re also second in points in the paint allowed and ninth in made threes allowed per game, and their switch-heavy defense should allow them to stay in front of Reid.

Miles Bridges under 23.5 points (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Bridges could be considered the primary option in the Charlotte Hornets’ offense, although it’s hard to know on any given night because of Brandon Miller, LaMelo Ball, and Kon Kneuppel also being on the court. He also went under this line in four straight games.

The Hornets are facing the Toronto Raptors, whose deep lineup has kept opponents to the third-fewest points per game. The Raptors have lots of size and length on the wings, and I expect that to help hold Bridges at bay.

Cunningham has taken yet another step forward with his game and is now averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 assists, and 6.6 rebounds per game. He also dished out 11 helpers in his last game and beat this line in seven of his last nine contests.

The Heat play at the second-fastest pace in the league, meaning that this should be a track meet between two high-flying teams in the East. The increase in possessions should create transition opportunities and mismatches, which Cunningham has a proven ability to exploit with his passing.

Cooper Flagg over 16.5 points (-106) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Flagg, who is still only 18, in case you forgot, averaged 15.7 points per game on 45.1 percent shooting. More importantly, his numbers improved to 16.8 points on 46.5 percent shooting without Anthony Davis, who is expected to miss Saturday’s game.

Flagg went under in three straight games, but he should have more freedom and opportunities without Davis occupying his favorite spots on the floor. The Los Angeles Clippers also rank 24th in points allowed per game.

Johnson is in the middle of his best stretch of the season, during which he scored 20, 18, and 28 points, and made at least three threes in three straight games. Despite that, he went under this line in 11 of 17 games and just hasn’t looked very comfortable in the offense.

The Denver Nuggets are taking on the Phoenix Suns, who tend to play at a slower pace, and are sixth in made threes allowed per game and seventh in three-point percentage allowed (33.7). Johnson only made one triple when these teams played in October, and a pause in his momentum is in the cards.
