The weekend has finally arrived, and it’s time for another installment of my best NBA player prop picks for Saturday.

Kawhi Leonard dropped 31 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists to drag the post-trade deadline Los Angeles Clippers past the Sacramento Kings, while the Detroit Pistons blew the New York Knicks out of the water, 118-80.

You don’t want to miss the best matchup on Saturday, as the Houston Rockets will head to face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Later in the day, Victor Wembanayma and the San Antonio Spurs will host Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks for an in-state showdown.

Amen Thompson under 5.5 assists (-158) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Amen has flirted with the over and the under, splitting them evenly at three apiece over his last six outings. However, he only went over this line one time in nine career matchups with the Thunder dating back to Feb. 2024.

The Thunder are down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but that also means that they’ll have Alex Caruso and more defensive-minded players on the floor for a longer period. The Thunder rank fifth in assists allowed per game and can force the talented guard under this mark.

De’Aaron Fox under 6.5 assists (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

There are so many factors at play that suggest Fox will go over this line. He had seven assists against these same Mavericks on Thursday, he went over in six straight games, and the Mavericks ranked 25th in assists allowed per game over the last few weeks.

With all of that hanging over the upcoming matchup, why bet on Fox’s under? He only averaged 6.3 assists per game for the year, and the Mavericks can be expected to shift their strategy after they gave up 135 points and lost by 12 in the meeting between the two teams a couple of days ago.

Johnson, a first-time All-Star, had 15 assists in his last game and hit double-digits in three straight contests. However, he and the Atlanta Hawks are about to run into the hottest team in basketball, which is… the Charlotte Hornets!

Charlotte ranks in the top five for points, rebounds, and assists allowed per game over their last 15 outings. Johnson went over in both matchups earlier this season, but the Hornets are playing truly excellent basketball at the moment and have enough on their roster to hold him under.

Reaves dropped 35 points in just 25 minutes and on 70.6 percent shooting against the Philadelphia 76ers a couple of days ago, a game that Luka Doncic left with a hamstring injury. With Doncic out for tonight’s matchup, Reaves is officially the best scorer on the Lakers, even with LeBron James also on the floor.

The Golden State Warriors’ roster looks terrible, and their defense has been hanging out right around the middle of the league. Reaves averaged 26.5 points per game while splitting time with James and Doncic, and even if he can’t play 35 minutes, he’ll have the ball in his hands enough to cash the over.

VJ Edgecombe over 5.5 rebounds (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Edgecombe, the third pick in last summer’s NBA Draft, averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game in what has been a highly productive rookie campaign. He also snatched 10 boards in his last game and went over this line in six of his last nine contests.

The Phoenix Suns have had a great year, but they struggle on the boards, ranking 27th in rebounds allowed per game over the last few weeks. Phoenix’s guards and wings also don’t do a great job of crashing the glass, which should leave room for the bouncy Edgecombe to collect at least six rebounds.
