NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Cooper Flagg, Darius Garland & More Picks for Wednesday, April 8

With less than one week until the conclusion of the NBA regular season, I’ve picked my favorite player props from around the league.

Jaylen Brown (35 points, nine rebounds) and LaMelo Ball (36 points, six assists) went toe-to-toe in a hard-fought battle between the Boston Celtics and the Charlotte Hornets, won by the C’s, before Jeremiah Fears had another career day with 40 points, six assists, and three steals in the New Orleans Pelicans’ win over the Utah Jazz.

There are several electrifying matchups today, including the Atlanta Hawks facing the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the Los Angeles Clippers.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Wednesday, April 8.

Best NBA Player Props Today 2026 04 08 Mavericks Cooper Flagg

Julius Randle Over 21.5 Points (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Randle went over in three of his last five games, while averaging 21.1 points per game for the season. He’s been a little hit-and-miss with Anthony Edwards out of the lineup, but he still went over in 11 of 19 games without Edwards over the course of the season.

The Timberwolves are about to face the Orlando Magic, who blew them out and held Randle to 14 points when they squared off in March. However, Edwards was available and scored a ton of points in that game, and the Magic ranked 23rd in average points allowed over their last 15 contests.

Evan Mobley Under 8.5 Rebounds (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Mobley’s completely inconsistent production on the glass is a reflection of his inconsistency as a player, one who sometimes looks like an All-Star, and at other times, looks like he has better places to be. He split the over/under in two previous matchups with the Hawks and went over in seven of his last 11 outings.

Despite Mobley’s hot streak on the glass, I don’t have much confidence in his abilities against a Hawks team that ranked 12th in rebounds allowed per game over the last few weeks. Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu, in particular, are two willing and physical players who will battle for boards, while Mobley doesn’t necessarily seek out contact under the rim.

Julian Champagnie Over 5.5 Rebounds (-144) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Champagnie had nine rebounds in his last game and went over in five of his last 11 outings, and he grabbed at least 10 rebounds in both matchups with the Portland Trail Blazers this season. Even better, he cashed the over in six straight contests without Victor Wembanyama, who is expected to be unavailable tonight.

The Trail Blazers have been very strong on the boards, ranking ninth in rebounds allowed per game over the last few weeks of play. However, Champagnie should get to play a solid number of minutes due to Wemby’s absence, and he’s proven that he can produce in that role.

Darius Garland Over 5.5 Assists (-144) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Garland hasn’t seen the Thunder since Jan. 16, 2025, but he has gone over this number in all but one career matchup with the franchise. Granted, OKC is much different than it was just a few years ago, but he has found success against this core group of players.

The new Los Angeles Clipper went under in four of his last six outings, but he also hasn’t played a ton of minutes, in several cases, due to blowouts. If the Clippers can hang around OKC, who is on the second night of a back-to-back, I like Garland’s chances to cash the over.

Cooper Flagg Under 25.5 Points (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

I’m expecting the majority of people to back Flagg to go over this number, seeing as he recently scored 51 and 45 points in consecutive games. He followed that up by scoring 25 points on 36 percent shooting in a loss to the Clippers on Tuesday, and he’s now cashed the under in four of his last six outings.

The Phoenix Suns have been a strong defensive outfit for the majority of the year, ranking eighth in points allowed per game. Flagg split the over/under in two previous matchups with the Suns, and I expect a natural slow night after some explosive outings to start the week.
