Picks for Sunday, April 12

The final day of the NBA regular season is here, and I’ve got my best player props lined up for the Sunday action.

Several playoff-bound squads are balancing the weight of intentionally putting out weak lineups to secure their preferred playoff matchup, while others are trying to win at all costs to keep their momentum going. The 10 teams in both conferences whose seasons will continue are known, although today’s games will still help determine who makes the Play-In and the playoff bracket in the Eastern Conference.

With a lineup that begins just after 6:00 p.m. ET and will run past 10:00 p.m., this is the final time to get a fix of regular-season NBA basketball, and to prepare for the upcoming postseason.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Sunday, April 12.

Best NBA Player Props Today April 12

Micah Potter 15+ points (+124) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Potter, a 28-year-old from Wisconsin, averaged 9.6 points per game this season, but he also went over in two of his last four games, and scored double-digits in all four. He played an average of 24.8 minutes in those games and should get plenty of playing time with most of the Indiana Pacers’ players expected to miss the contest.

The Detroit Pistons locked up the first seed and don’t have any reason to play up to their full potential tonight. Potter is getting shots and will be facing an opponent that’s just mailing it in, so I like his chances.

Desmond Bane 4+ rebounds (-146) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Bane went over in all three previous matchups with the Boston Celtics, averaged 4.1 rebounds per game, and cashed the over in four of his last seven outings. The Orlando Magic also need to win tonight’s clash to have a chance of climbing from the seventh to the sixth seed in the East, although they also need the Toronto Raptors to lose to the Brooklyn Nets for that to happen.

The Celtics are locked into the second seed in the East and will be playing without Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Neemias Queta, while Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Nikola Vucevic are all questionable. This feels like an opportune time to get a good player who has to play with intensity against a team of backups.

LeBron James 10+ assists (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

LeBron has reminded the world of what can happen when he plays full-time point guard, dishing out 15, 11, and 12 assists since the Los Angeles Lakers lost Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to injuries. He’s now about to face a Utah Jazz team that has mostly had the worst defense in the NBA the entire year.

James already went over in two of three matchups with Utah, even with his star teammates by his side. The Lakers need to win tonight’s game to have a chance of climbing past the Denver Nuggets and back into the third seed, and that means that LeBron should be full-steam ahead.

De’Aaron Fox 8+ assists (+112) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Fox and Julian Champagnie are two San Antonio Spurs starters who are not questionable, unlike Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and Victor Wembanyama. In the event that any of the usual starters miss the matchup, Fox, who averaged 6.2 assists per game, should spend a ton of time with the ball in his hands.

The Denver Nuggets are sitting out most of their starters, meaning that Fox will primarily go against a team of backups. He had 10 and seven assists in his last two outings and went over in two of three matchups with the Nuggets this season, and if any of the Spurs’ starters end up sitting, I would really like this NBA prop.

Rob Dillingham 15+ points (-122) at FanDuel Sportsbook

I like to say that player prop betting is somewhat akin to fantasy football, in the sense that production is directly related to players’ volume of opportunities. The Chicago Bulls aren’t trying to win games, and Dillingham took at least 10 shots in three straight games, while playing 27 minutes in all of those games.

The former eighth-overall pick scored 13, five, and 26 points in that recent three-game run. If he can shoot anywhere close to 50 percent from the field, he should have enough chances and looks at the hoop to cash the over against a Dallas Mavericks team that allowed the fourth-most average points over the last few weeks.
