Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is completing just 57.1% of his passes this season versus Cover-3, a coverage the Jaguars utilize most often.
The Jaguars are allowing the third-least rushing yards to opposing running backs this season.
Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange has a 16.7% target share, which is second on the team.
The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a rocky start this season, but are coming off a massive 37-20 home victory over the Baltimore Ravens in a game where Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was injured.
As for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they’re 3-1 under new head coach Liam Coen with wins over the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, and San Francisco 49ers.
The Chiefs' big Week 4 improved their Super Bowl odds, and the Jaguars also continue to climb. As for NFL MVP odds, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes saw a noticeable increase after a four-touchdown day.

The Jaguars are off to an excellent start to the season, and now they have a chance to really put their name on the map at home against the Chiefs.
The last time the Jaguars and Chiefs played was Sept. 17, 2023. Those were certainly much different teams than the current 2025 iterations, but the final score was just 17-9.
Now, the Jaguars have an offensive mastermind at the helm in Coen.
Also, the Jaguars' defense mostly plays Cover-3.
This season, versus Cover-3, Mahomes is completing just 57.1% of his passes.
The Chiefs do have wide receiver Xavier Worthy back, but they still don’t have an answer for a running game.
The Jaguars, at the very least, cover in a close game at home.

Heading into Week 5, Strange has a 16.7% team target share rate on the Jaguars, which ranks second. He’s only behind Brian Thomas Jr.’s 23.2% and is ahead of rookie Travis Hunter’s 15.2%.
The Chiefs are only allowing 33 receiving yards to opposing tight ends per game. Still, that’s higher than the line provided here of 30-plus yards, and it’s not like the Jaguars use another tight end. The next closest tight end, target share-wise, is Hunter Long at 5.1%.
Strange will continue to get targets in this offense, and he’s had 30 yards or more in three of four games this season.

So far this season, Pacheco has earned just 42.7% of the Chiefs’ running back carries. He trails Kareem Hunt, who had a 48% share.
This is essentially a 50/50 backfield, and neither of them is working out.
So far this season, Pacheco has run for 30 yards or less in two games. In his last two games, he’s run for 35 and 45 yards.
He’s also fallen short of 30 yards once on double-digit carries.
To start the season, the Jaguars are allowing just 63.75 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs, which is third-least in the NFL.
Given that this is essentially a 50/50 timeshare and I’m just waiting for the time when rookie running back Brashard Smith gets more opportunities, it doesn’t bode well for Pacheco.
He’s had a lackluster season, and that’ll continue here on Monday Night Football.
