Puka Nacua had seven catches for 167 yards against the Cardinals in Week 14.
Nacua has six games with over 90 receiving yards this season.
The Lions gave up over 100 receiving yards to two different receivers in last week’s win over the Cowboys.
Puka Nacua was one of the NFL’s top performers in Week 14, catching seven passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals. The question is what Nacua can do as an encore in Week 15. He and the Rams have a big game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Rams are hoping to hang onto their slim lead in the NFC West, while the Lions need wins down the stretch just to get into the playoffs.
Heading into Week 15, Nacua remains a long shot to lead the NFL in receiving yards, although last week certainly helped. He’s also being overlooked as an NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds. On the bright side, Nacua’s efforts this season have helped to give the Rams the shortest Super Bowl odds, making them clear favorites at the moment.
After his big game last week, we’ll be watching Nacua closely in another big game this week. That’s why we looked closely at him and the Detroit defense to come up with three prop bets for Nacua in Week 15.

Surprisingly, Nacua has just six touchdowns this season, and that was after he scored twice last week. But after his monster performance last week, Matthew Stafford has to look Nacua’s way in the red zone a little more often. While Davante Adams has been that guy for most of the season, collecting 14 touchdowns, the gap between him and Nacua with regard to touchdowns is bound to balance out late in the season.
It’s worth noting that Adams is battling a hamstring injury that limited him in practice this week. If he’s not at full strength, Nacua will be the better option for Stafford during scoring opportunities. The kicker is that the Lions have allowed 26 passing touchdowns, which is the fourth-most in the NFL. That means multiple Rams could end up scoring multiple receiving touchdowns.

This number has no doubt been inflated by last week’s 167 receiving yards. But after that performance, it’s hard not to give Nacua the benefit of the doubt. After all, last week was his fourth game this season with 100+ receiving yards. Nacua also has two other games with over 90 yards, so he’s more than capable of having another big game.
The Detroit defense also plays a factor in this bet. The Lions give up 12 yards per reception, which is tied for the second-highest in the league. They’ve also allowed a receiver to rack up over 90 yards in three straight games. In fact, two receivers had over 100 yards against the Lions in last week’s win over the Cowboys. Those struggles by the Detroit defense make us feel confident that Nacua can do some serious damage this week.

Detroit’s defensive shortcomings are also a reason to back Nacua for this bet. The Lions have given up the second-most receptions of 20 yards or more in the league. Over their last three games, nine different players have recorded a catch of at least 30 yards against the Detroit defense. In other words, they don’t seem to be capable of preventing big plays right now.
As for Nacua, he’s not always looked at as a downfield threat. However, he’s had a catch of at least 30 yards in three straight games. Since he can be tough to tackle, Nacua is able to break loose and pick up yards after the catch, leading to big plays. It wouldn’t shock anyone to see him do that against Detroit’s lackluster pass defense, so we’ll happily back Nacua for this prop as well.
