Rams vs. Seahawks Pick: Rams +2.5 (-105) at bet365 Sportsbook
The Rams’ defense started to look more like its early-season self, during which it led the NFL in EPA allowed per play. The Seahawks’ defense has been sensational, but I trust Stafford to make the big-time throws far more than I do Darnold. The Rams also have much more experience and already won two playoff games on the road.

The Rams barely made it out of a nail-biter on the road against the Chicago Bears under the snow-covered lights of Soldier Field. Kamren Curl’s diving interception in overtime ensured Stafford and company got a second crack on offense in the second period, which they made good of with a game-winning 42-yard field goal.
Stafford didn’t play to his MVP standard, going 20/42 for 258 yards. However, he didn’t turn the ball over, and he got his team down the field when it mattered the most.
LA’s defense also came to the party for the first time in weeks, producing multiple splash plays on fourth down and against the run. Although they surrendered 417 total yards of offense, they picked off three of Caleb Williams’ passes and got off the field three times on six fourth-down attempts. Their -0.036 EPA allowed per play was leaps and bounds better than the .062 they posted from Weeks 13-18, during which they ranked 23rd in the NFL.
Returning to the West Coast to play under clear skies in estimated 47-degree weather will be much better for the Rams. Although they proved their physicality and resilience, the strength of their offense is their diverse passing attack, which was hampered by the elements.
Interestingly, Stafford only had 130 yards and two touchdowns during the regular-season matchup between the Rams and Seahawks that his team won, while he went for 457 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

The best word to describe the Seahawks’ defense is suffocating. They don’t create tons of high-impact explosives like the Houston Texans, but they simply don’t concede ground to their opponents. They ranked second in EPA allowed per play and third in defensive success rate while maintaining the best run defense in the sport and having a wide variety of coverages for the members of their secondary.
While reports broke that Sam Darnold suffered an oblique injury two days before the Seahawks’ divisional-round clash with the San Francisco 49ers, the concern came to be for nothing. Darnold didn’t have to do much, going 12/17 for 124 yards and a touchdown in the win.
The Seahawks lost running back Zach Charbonnet to a torn ACL in the win, but Kenneth Walker III dominated, taking 19 carries for 116 yards and three touchdowns. The team also finished +3 in the turnover department and scored a special teams touchdown on a 95-yard kickoff return by Rashid Shaheed on the first play of the game.
Although the Rams-Seahawks season series is split, Seattle gave their divisional rival all they could handle. They only lost the first meeting despite Darnold throwing zero touchdowns and four interceptions, and they missed a 61-yard field goal as time expired.
This will be the toughest test of Mike MacDonald’s young head-coaching career. Sean McVay beat a division rival, the 49ers, during the Rams’ run to the Super Bowl in 2022, and he’s widely regarded as the best coach in the sport. MacDonald has been stellar, but he needs to craft his best game plan of the season.
