The Steelers' offensive line allowed three sacks and eight QB hits last week
The Pats lead the NFL with nine sacks
Drake Maye completed 82.6% of his passes for 230 yards and two TDs
Of all the early-season storylines from the NFL, the struggles of the Steelers' defense are among the biggest surprises. Now they are dealing with some key injuries, and will be missing Alex Highsmith this weekend. That has us wondering if this once-great unit can turn things around against a dangerous Drake Maye.
Below, we will share our favorite three prop bets for this AFC matchup.

The future Hall of Famer reminded us that he is 41 in Week 2. He was unable to capture the magic from the team’s opening win, though it is hard to blame him. Pittsburgh’s offensive line failed to protect him, leading him to take eight hits and three sacks. We saw Rodgers feeling the pain of those hits, which affected his ability to lead the offense.
While the Patriots' secondary is a concern, their pass rush has helped cover for them. They lead the NFL with nine sacks over the first two weeks, with five coming last week against the Dolphins.
Once Rodgers starts getting hit, it will lead him to look for quicker and safer passes. The quarterback is also known for surrendering to sacks early, especially as he continues to age. Expect Pittsburgh to rush the ball to protect Rodgers, helping to ensure he has a quiet passing game.

Rodgers and the Steelers will look to get DK Metcalf going against this bad Pats secondary, but it won’t last long. As we mentioned above, we count on the quarterback facing a lot of pressure, leading him to look for quick completions instead of allowing deeper ones to open up. While that is bad news for the Steelers' offense, it will be good news for Jaylen Warren.
The running back hasn’t been a reliable rusher, but his speed and athleticism make him a deadly receiver. He leads the team with 108 yards through the air, finding the end zone once.
As impressive as New England’s pass rush has looked, short passes to Warren will allow the explosive pass catcher to work against the far less impressive secondary. Expect to see Warren targeted early and often on Sunday.

The Dolphins' defense has been stunningly bad, but we still came away impressed with Drake Maye. The second-year quarterback completed 82.6% of his passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. It showed his strong Week 1 performance was far from a fluke, making this offense more exciting than it has been in years.
It’s hard to believe, but the Steelers' defense has been awful to begin 2025. Their age is showing, and now they’ll be without a key piece in Alex Highsmith, who will miss at least one game. Combine that with DeShone Elliott and Joey Porter Jr. both being listed as questionable due to injuries. That makes it hard to believe this struggling defense will turn things around, allowing Maye to have another big day for the Pats.
