Taking the World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler over LIV star Joaquin Niemann looks a sure thing.
Scheffler leads the head-to-head count across their entire careers 47-21 and he leads 18-7 since the start of 2022.
In the US Open, it is 4-0. That’s strong.
Bryson DeChambeau up against Tommy Fleetwood is a much tighter proposition.
Across their careers, the Englishman leads 37-34 and he also holds an 8-6 advantage since January 2022.
The American leads 5-4 in the US Open - he has also won five of the last six.
At a very short price, we can let this double pass.

The 25-year-old Swede Ludvig Aberg is a phenom who has finished top 20 in three of his first six major championships starts.
Hitting the ball long and straight from the tee box is a great start at Oakmont this week and Aberg does that very well.
He was T12th on US Open debut last year - another top 20 is highly likely.
Collin Morikawa was even more precocious in his early majors, winning two in his first seven starts.
He is also straight from the tee, if not as long as Aberg.
He has 13 top 20s from 22 major starts and has been top 20 in his last four US Opens.
This is a rock-solid option.

This needs careful thought.
Corey Conners missed the cut in his first five US Open but was ninth last year.
Denny McCarthy has played five US Opens but the first two came when he was a young pro. In the last three years, he has finished seventh, T20th and T32nd (when outside the top 100 after 18 holes).
Sepp Straka is 0-for-4 at finishing top 20 in the US Open but has won twice this year, one of those wins was at Philadelphia Cricket Club which has visual similarities with Oakmont, and he sits third in the FedEx Cup rankings.
The option below has potential, but this is the pick of the bigger-priced options.

We’ve addressed Conners, so on to the mystery that is Viktor Hovland.
He won the Valspar Championship in March and even he admitted it was a surprise given his form.
He does, however, have three US Open top 20s from five completed starts.
Harris English is very interesting.
The American has finished T12th in the Masters this year and second in the PGA Championship - both of them career-best finishes in those tournaments.
He also won at Torrey Pines in January which is a US Open-hosting layout.
And he has three top 10s in his last five US Open starts (and is 9-for-9 at making the cut).
Hovland is the concern.

Patrick Cantlay is 9-for-9 at making the US Open cut and has finished top 20 in each of the last four years. Tick.
Russell Henley has recorded four US Open top 20s in 11 starts including three in his last four starts. Tick.
Jordan Spieth was the 2015 US Open champion at Chambers Bay but he has landed just one further top 20 in 10 subsequent starts, and admits that the tournament does not suit his game. No tick.
Tom Hoge has played the US Open seven times, made just two cuts, and never finished top 40. Not tick, end of discussion.
