Nobody sees the ball better than Phillies shortstop Trea Turner over the last week. The star had a disappointing 2024 campaign, but seems to be settling back into MVP-caliber form. Below, we’ll share our favorite bet for his game against the Rays and two others we are putting money on tonight.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |

Phillies | -1.5 (+140) | -125 | Over 8 (+100) |
Rays | +1.5 (-165) | +105 | Under 8 (-120) |
The Rays’ lineup has been a mess over the last week, posting a brutal .552 OPS. Brandon Lowe continues to struggle, while the rookie Kameron Misner has significantly cooled off after a hot start. As a result, Tampa has failed to score more than three runs in five out of their previous six games.
Phillies’ ace Zach Wheeler (2-1, 3.48 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) will thrive against this slumping Rays’ lineup. While he had a rough start to April, he has allowed just two earned runs in three straight games (19 ⅔ innings). The veteran is firing on all cylinders and will walk away with a win today.
The Phillies' lineup remains one of the best in baseball, and they are even better now that Trea Turner is heating up. The shortstop has posted a .440 average over the last week. While his power numbers aren’t here yet, they will show up soon, with Turner seeing the ball so well.
The Phillies own a .296 average against Rays’ starter Drew Rasmussen (1-2, 2.64 ERA, 0.98 WHIP). Considering the 29-year-old has allowed seven runs over his last two starts (10 innings), we expect him to have a rough night against Philadelphia.

Giants | +1.5 (-170) | +122 | Over 8 (-110) |
Cubs | -1.5 (+143) | -145 | Under 8 (-110) |
Former Cy Young winner Justin Verlander (0-2, 4.38 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) will take the hill for San Francisco tonight. He has delivered three consecutive quality starts after an ugly start to the season, but those came against three teams that rank in the bottom five of the league in OPS.
That won’t be the case tonight as Verlander takes on a Cubs team that owns the second-best OPS in baseball (.794). Although he has had success against Chicago in the past, the 42-year-old is a very different pitcher these days.
Colin Rea (2-0, 1.46 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) will be starting opposite Verlander tonight. The 34-year-old was brought in as a reliever, but has become a full-time member of this rotation. While he doesn’t go deep into games, a surprisingly effective Chicago bullpen will be more than capable of taking things over en route to a win.

Mets | +1.5 (-210) | -105 | Over 9 (-105) |
Diamondbacks | -1.5 (+175) | -115 | Under 9 (-115) |
Is it time to worry about D-backs ace Zac Gallen (2-4, 4.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP)? While he posted a fantastic start against the Mets last week, he has looked far from the All-Star he once was. His cold start is more concerning when you see his ERA and WHIP rise in the last two seasons. That has us believing his brutal start may not be the fluke Arizona fans have hoped it was.
The New York offense remains one of the league’s best, thanks largely to Pete Alonso. The slugger ranks third in the league in batting average (.344) and RBIs (31) while owning the second-best OPS (1.124). The fact that he is doing this damage without posting eye-popping home run numbers makes it more impressive, and he is showing no signs of slowing down.
David Peterson (2-1, 3.06 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) will be starting for the Mets tonight. The lefty isn’t going deep into games, but he has been an incredibly consistent starter for New York in 2025. His last start was against the D-backs, where he allowed one run over five innings en route to a win. Expect to see a similar screen playout tonight.
