Florida had some issues early in the season and dropped a few games, but most of the losses came against some of the best teams in the nation, i.e., Arizona, Duke, and UConn. After losing their SEC opener to Missouri (76-74), they’ve gone 8-1 with a loss to Auburn (76-67).
They’ve beaten four ranked teams in SEC play, after losing to the three they faced in nonconference action.
As for Georgia, the Bulldogs seem to be taking the “offense wins games” approach this season. Georgia has been averaging 91.1 points per game this season, second best in the country. That offense helped them go 12-1 in nonconference play, but it hasn’t been enough against several SEC opponents.
For example, like when they lost 92-77 in Gainesville to Florida on January 6.
My Pick: Georgia +7.5 at -110 via FanDuel
I’ve read a ton of predictions about Florida’s ‘elite’ defense, but it allows 71.2 points per game, which ranks No. 107 (that doesn't sound too elite). They are one of the best rebounding teams in the nation (No. 1 in total rebounds). But I don’t see much evidence that screams “elite defense.”
But they do play good defense and have a top-20 offense. I’d lean towards them winning outright since Georgia doesn’t play much defense, but the Bulldogs offense has me thinking Georgia will keep this one interesting at home.

Colorado is another one of those teams that looked respectable with a 10-3 record in nonconference play. But when it came time for Big 12 action, the outcome wasn’t nearly as desirable. The Buffaloes have lost seven of 11 conference games, including a six-game losing streak that started with a loss to Texas Tech, 73-71.
As for the Red Raiders, Texas Tech has been taking care of business against the teams it should beat. But they have struggled against most of their quality opponents, losing to five of the eight-ranked teams they have faced. However, they’ve also recorded wins against some of the best.
They beat No. 3 Duke by a point, 82-81, before Christmas, defeated No. 11 BYU a couple of weeks ago (84-71), and beat No. 6 Houston (90-86). Texas Tech last played on Sunday, beating West Virginia 70-63.
My Pick: -14.5 Texas Tech at -110 via FanDuel
Colorado is not going to win this game. They don’t have the talent or depth to match Texas Tech play-for-play. They might keep it close for a while in the first half, but the Red Raiders are one of the better three-point shooting teams in the country, and the Buffs don’t defend the perimeter well.
If Texas Tech can heat up from three-point range against Colorado’s dreadful defense, the Red Raiders can cover.
