Two NFC Championship contenders will compete on Sunday when the Rams travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles knocked off the Chiefs in Week 2, and have plenty of momentum coming into Sunday.

Jalen Hurts Over 194.5 Passing Yards (-110) at bet365

Jalen Hurts gets a ton of criticism every week despite being a Super Bowl champion. Hurts doesn’t always have the best stats, but he finds a way to win nearly every week. 

Winning should be the primary quarterback statistic, but this isn’t the case. Hurts can be tough to bet on because he is capable of posting big stats, but he also drops the ball. 

Although, Hurts doesn’t usually have down weeks because of poor play. The Eagles love to run the football with Saquon Barkley, and this is so effective that it keeps Hurts stats down. 

The Eagles haven’t thrown the ball a lot this season, but they’re very capable and the Rams could bring out their passing game. Philadelphia has AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith who are ready to produce. 

The Los Angeles Rams have one of the best passing defenses in the NFL after two weeks, but they faced the Texans and Titans. Houston can’t find any legitimate offense and Tennessee has a rookie quarterback, so the Rams will get tested more this week than in the past. 

The key to beating the Eagles is stopping Saquon Barkley. If Los Angeles sells out for the run, and puts up points with Matthew Stafford, Hurts will have to throw the ball. 

Barkley had 205 rushing yards the last time these teams played. The Rams won’t allow this to happen again, so Hurts will have to be the guy on Sunday to get his team a win.

AJ Brown only has six catches for 35 yards this season. He has averaged just 5.8 yards per reception. 

Brown is a physical specimen at 6’1” and 226 pounds. He is too talented for the Eagles to not get him the ball. 

I believe there will be a lot of passing on Sunday, so Brown must get involved in the offense. Last season, the Rams virtually shut Brown down in the playoffs, but the snow played a factor. 

If Los Angeles sells out for the run, it will leave Brown in man coverage, and he should be able to beat Los Angeles’ secondary. 

Brown needs to have a breakout week, and this is a perfect time for a dominant performance. He also struggled early in 2024, but once they got him the ball, the receiver started putting up massive numbers. 

The way to get Brown going is by throwing him the ball around the goal line, leading to a touchdown.

The narrative for the Rams at the beginning of the season was that Matthew Stafford wasn’t going to be healthy and they weren’t going to throw the ball. This hasn’t been the case for the Rams, as Stafford has thrown for 543 yards in two games. 

Stafford has plenty of weapons to work with, and his favorite is Puka Nacua. Nacua has caught 18 passes for 221 yards. 

He leads the NFL in receptions with 18 and he is fourth in receiving yards. Nacua had a rushing touchdown last week on a jet sweep, but he hasn’t caught a touchdown yet. 

This should change against an Eagles defense that was terrible versus the pass in Week 1. Philadelphia locked down Kansas City, but the Chiefs didn’t have any vertical threats. 

The Rams have a lot of threats for the Eagles to account for, and this confusion should result in Nacua finding the end zone.
