Bryce Young had a career-high 448 passing yards last weekend
Brock Purdy had 200 yards and three touchdowns in his return to the field last Sunday
The Panthers could steal the Niners’ projected playoff spot with a win
Two NFC opponents will take the Monday Night Football stage in Week 12 as the Carolina Panthers visit the San Francisco 49ers.
The Panthers are legitimately a winning football team for the first time in what feels like a decade. On the other side, the 49ers survived an onslaught of injuries and are trying to steady their ship with Brock Purdy back under center.
The Niners are clinging to the seventh seed in the NFC playoff picture, while a win would help the Panthers usurp them for the final spot. Every game is crucial at this point in the season, particularly in such a crowded NFC.

NFL odds have the home team favored by seven points against the spread, but that’s not my biggest concern—instead, I’m going to peel back the curtains to find the best Panthers vs. 49ers player props for MNF. Here are my findings…

Let’s get one thing clear: I’m not saying to bet the over because Young had 448 passing yards, the third-most in an NFL game this season, in last weekend’s victory. I am saying to bet the over because that game is going to give him as much confidence as he’s had since he entered the NFL.
Young’s out-of-nowhere performance came after he was held under 200 yards in five straight games. However, the 49ers are going to score points and will force the Panthers to try to aggressively move the ball, and their defense ranked 28th in passing yards allowed per game (249.1).

The Niners are a run-first team that wants to soften up their opponents’ defense to set up play-action shots down the field. McCaffrey’s ability to facilitate the running and passing game is a major part of what makes him so valuable to this offense.
The 29-year-old went under in two straight games, but there were extenuating circumstances in both. The Panthers aren’t going to score 40 points and force the Niners to abandon the run, and I believe the Niners will be committed to controlling the clock in front of their fans in primetime.

Dowdle dominated the mid-season headlines with 206 and 183 rushing yards in consecutive weeks. He was held under 3.0 yards per carry in both of his last outings, yet he received 18 and 19 carries in those two games, reflecting that he has not lost his importance to the offense.
Dowdle ripped off 130 yards and two touchdowns three weekends ago and scored in two of his last three games. So, there’s explosive ability, a high workload, and a proof of concept with him breaking into the end zone, all of which make me comfortable betting on him to score.

Neither Pearsall nor Jauan Jennings is good enough to warrant having Jaycee Horn travel to follow them, which means they should get near-even looks at one of the best corners in the game. That means that both will be handicapped at different points in the game, and it’s not as simple as betting on the second receiver to cash their over.
Pearsall had a nice start to the year, but he caught one pass for zero yards last weekend in his first game since Week 4. I believe the Niners’ path to victory will come on the ground, not through the air, which means a slow night for Pearsall.
