Jayden Daniels is having down year, relative to last season when he was one of the best rookies in the NFL. Daniels has been injured, but he is now healthy, and it should result in a big game.
However, the primary reason to trust Daniels in this spot has nothing to do with his elite quarterback ability. It has everything to do with Washington’s lackluster defense.
Seattle will score points, and this means Washington will have to keep pace in this contest. The Commanders have no choice but to throw the ball vertically down the field.
Daniels threw for 211 in his last full appearance against the Bears. His passing numbers don’t jump off the board, but this is why we’re getting such a good number on him for this contest.
Seattle’s secondary has struggled to contain accurate quarterbacks, allowing over 240 passing yards per game this season. The Seahawks’ defense has also given up explosive plays downfield throughout the year, and Daniels deep ball accuracy makes him a legitimate threat.
Terry McLaurin will be Daniels primary target, and he is coming off a game where he had a touchdown. Look for Washington to open the playbook and for Daniels to increase his stats.

Sam Darnold has looked sharp since taking over as Seattle’s starter, averaging 250 yards per game and completing nearly 69% of his passes this season. The Seahawks’ offense has leaned more on the pass under Darnold, and the quarterback has delivered.
Washington’s defense has a lot of injuries, which leads to bad performances. With Darnold benefiting from elite protection, this is a perfect spot for an over bet.
Given the Commanders’ tendency to blitz aggressively, expect Darnold to exploit single coverage opportunities, especially with his talented receiving corps. If game script turns into a shootout, Darnold could easily flirt with 300 yards and Jaxon Smith-Njigba should be the player leading the way.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is emerging as Seattle’s breakout star. The third-year receiver has topped 90 yards in four of his last five games and now leads the team in targets over that span. His chemistry with Darnold has been electric, particularly on intermediate and deep routes out of the slot.
The Commanders’ secondary has been a weak point all season, allowing tons of yards to slot receivers. JSN lines up in the slot consistently and is used in motion a lot, which helps disguise him on the field.
JSN’s combination of route-running precision and yards-after-catch ability makes him the focal point of Seattle’s passing attack right now.
At 93.5 yards, the number feels high at first glance, but given his recent production and Darnold’s willingness to push the ball downfield, this is an over worth backing.
