A lot of things can impact a game that teams can plan for, but there is one thing NFL coaches can’t really game plan for—the weather. They can figure out how to deal with it to a certain degree, but they can’t completely eliminate the impact of the weather.
However, the potential impact of inclement weather depends on the nature of the weather and its severity. With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few games where weather could have an impact that bettors should be aware of.

The forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 80s with winds around 8 mph with gusts up to 10 mph, and a 40% chance of rain showers. So, this could potentially turn into a wet and muggy kind of day.
If the weather turns, this could benefit the Jets more than the Bucs. New York has nothing going for it on offense, so the Bucs have to be ready for anything. Tampa Bay, on the other hand, has been effective in both the passing and running games.
Should the weather turn nasty enough, the Bucs may be forced to focus more on running the ball than passing. Should that happen, they’ll become easier to defend. Does that mean the Jets could win?
Of course not, but I think they’ll have a better chance of covering, and the UNDER becomes really intriguing.

With the game being in Florida, humidity will play a role. The forecast is calling for temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s at kickoff and throughout the game with a 43% chance of thunderstorms, and 9 mph winds with gusts of 10 mph.
So, this could potentially be a terrible game for kicking and deep passes. But I would have to say it impacts the Jaguars more than the Texans.
Houston's terrible offensive line makes it hard to run the ball and difficult to protect C.J. Stroud. Bad weather isn’t going to hurt them any more than they hurt themselves. As for Jacksonville, we've seen a good game and a bad game from the Jags.
They are at their best when they can establish the run. This weather could potentially make that more challenging to do so, or it may do nothing at all. What it will do, however, is make it more likely that the final score is low and the UNDER hits.

This may or may not come as a surprise, but the forecast is calling for the Windy City to be, well— windy. The temperature at kickoff is expected to be 73 degrees, and there will be a 33% chance of thunderstorms that will turn into a 27% chance of rain showers for the duration of the game.
Winds are expected to be 7 mph coming out of the southwest with gusts up to 14 mph. This stands to impact the Cowboys more than the Bears. Why?
After Brandon Aubrey made a 51, 44, 64, and 46-yard field goal last week, they may be more likely to let him take a kick from anywhere. He could make them anyway; he is that good, or the weather could tarnish his halo as he misses kicks he’d usually make.
From a betting perspective, this would have me lean a little more towards taking the Bears in what could potentially be a close game. But the better bet for this game is the UNDER.
