The main event of UFC 322 sees champion Jack Della Maddalena defend his belt for the first time against former Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev.
Della Maddalena captured the Welterweight Championship in May when he defeated Belal Muhammad. The fight went the distance, but Maddalena was unanimously crowned the victor after a spectacular performance. He is going to have to pull out all the stops in this bout, taking on one of the toughest fighters the promotion has ever had on the books.
Makhachev held the Lightweight Championship until he vacated it in May to move up to the Welterweight division. He had a great run as champion and successfully defended the belt four times, most recently against Renato Moicano. The first round saw Makhachev lock in a D’Arce choke, forcing the challenger to tap. This will be a first shot at the Welterweight Championship, and fans are eager to see if Makhachev has what it takes to take control of this division.
Bookmakers are expecting Makhachev to take this one, and that’s who we have, too. Back him at -290 at FanDuel today.

UFC 322 is shaping up to be great viewing, with the next fight on the card being a title bout between Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko and Zhang Weili.
Shevchenko is a two-time Flyweight Champion with a point to prove. This will be her second title defence after regaining the belt from Alexa Grasso in September, 2014 and defeating Manon Florot in May. In a previous spell of being the champion, Shevchenko successfully defended the belt seven times, and many commentators expect her to return to this impressive form.
In her way stands Zhang Weili: pound-for-pound, she’s the second ranked women’s fighter in the world. She vacated the Strawweight Championship in October, having defended the title three times. Her last fight saw her take on Tatiana Suarez, picking up a unanimous victory. Weili is one of the best female fighters in the world. It will be interesting to see how she fares against an opponent with a very similar fighting style.
Despite being the underdog, Zhang Weili is who we are favoring. At the time of writing you can bet on her with +100 odds at FanDuel.

Sean Brady and Michael Morales are coming into this event with impressive records, and fans will be watching to see who leaves Madison Square Garden victorious.
Sean Brady has had a great career, only picking up one loss in his 11 year tenure. He steps into the octagon on a three-fight winning streak. In March, he managed to guillotine choke Leon Edwards into submission, an incredible accomplishment as Edwards is a former Welterweight Champion. If he wants to continue his hot streak, he’s going to have to pull out all the stops against Morales, a fighter without a single loss on his resume.
Morales is a rising star: the Ecuadorian can boast that he has never lost a single clash. In June, he took on Gilbert Burns and knocked him out in the first with a strong right hook and a series of follow up punches. Morales can certainly pack a punch: he’s knocked out 72% of his challengers. We can expect he’ll be looking to do the same against Brady.
We’re backing the undefeated Morales to leave victorious, and you can find +116 odds at FanDuel if you think the same.

This fight pits former Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards against Carlos Prates. Whoever takes the glory here will be able to climb the rankings with the potential of a title shot in the future.
Although a respected fighter, Edwards hasn’t been on his game as of late, picking up two consecutive losses. Against Sean Brady in March, he was forced to tap when his opponent applied a guillotine choke. Edwards certainly has what it takes to hang with the best, but he needs to win against Prates if he wants to be taken as a serious fighter.
Prates has had an impressive run in the UFC, winning five out of six fights. August saw Prates take out Geoff Neal with a spinning back elbow. Prates is a knockout specialist, finishing 77% of his fights in this manner.
Even though he has lost his last two fights, we think Leon Edwards will win. At the time of writing he is sitting at +154 odds at FanDuel.

The first fight on the card has Beneil Dariush taking on Benoît Saint Denis in a battle for Lightweight supremacy.
Dariush has defeated some of the toughest opponents the UFC has ever had to offer, with wins over greats like Charles Oliveira and Tony Ferguson. Earlier this year, he duked it out with Renato Moicano, where he picked up a unanimous victory. He will need to be on his guard against Saint Denis, as 83% of Dariush’s losses come due to knockouts, but fortunately for him the Frenchman tends to favor a submission victory.
Saint Denis knows his way around a hold or two, winning 73% of his fights with his opponents tapping out. In September, he took on Mauricio Ruffy, making Ruffly submit in the second with a rear naked choke. Donned the “God of War”, Saint Denis won’t need divine intervention to be considered a potential championship contender.
Bookmakers are expecting Benoît Saint Denis to claim the win. Visit FanDuel today to find -215 odds on the “God of War”.
