The 2026 World Cup will be broadcast on Fox, with FIFA renewing the broadcasting rights for both US and Canadian audiences. NBCUniversal has the rights to broadcast the World Cup games in Spanish.

This marks the first time in history that the tournament is hosted across three countries, stretching across nearly the entire North American continent from Canada and Mexico to the United States. The 16 selected World Cup stadiums include iconic venues such as Mexico City’s legendary Estadio Azteca, which will become the first stadium to host matches in three separate World Cup editions. The event concludes at the New York-New Jersey Stadium, which has been officially chosen as the site for the 2026 final.

The World Cup final will take place at New York/New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) on July 19 at 3:00 PM ET.
With the number of teams competing at this year’s World Cup increasing from 32 up to 48, there is a new World Cup bracket format in place. This means there will be a total of 104 games played, which is an increase from 64 in the previous format.
There are now 12 groups of four teams, instead of eight groups.
The top two teams from each group will automatically secure their spot in the Round of 32. The eight best third-placed teams will also qualify for the knockout stage.
The final 32 teams will compete in the knockout stage to determine who reaches the final.
The United States men’s national team automatically qualified for the finals of the World Cup, as they are a host nation. They have been drawn into Group D and will kickstart their campaign on Friday, June 12, against Paraguay in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.
