Braves vs. Reds - Carlos Carrasco vs. Andrew Abbott (7:10 PM, EST)

The Braves offense scored one run on Wednesday against the Royals. They have scored one run in two of their past five games and they’ll face Andrew Abbott who has been elite this season.

Abbott is the perfect type of pitcher to back when it comes to a NRFI wager. He has helped keep the Reds afloat in the playoff picture.

Abbott is 8-1 with a 2.09 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. He has allowed just 83 hits in 103.1 innings with 95 strikeouts.

Aboottt has been even better at home with a 1.93 ERA so it will be tough for Atlanta to succeed offensively. This is perfect for a NRFI wager.

These two teams have played four times this season and every game has stayed under 9 runs. Three of the games have stayed under seven runs

Carlos Carrasco will pitch for the Braves. He is 2-2 with a 5.91 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP. He shouldn’t be on the mound more than four or five innings in this game.

I expect the Reds to hit, but I don’t think it will be enough with the Braves failing bats. Carrasco has the ability to win in the first inning, but the wheels should come off later in his start.

Rangers vs. Mariners - Kumar Rocker vs. George Kirby (9:40 PM, EST)

The Texas Rangers have climbed back into the playoff mix, but they have a very unfavorable matchup on Friday. Kumar Rocker will pitch for Texas, and he has been horrendous on the road this season.

Rocker has a 9.91 ERA in 26.1 innings on the road. Opponents are batting .354 off him on the road. Rocker has all the talent in the world, but the home vs. road splits are so interesting.

He is capable at home, and we don’t need him to win throughout his entire start. Rocker just has to be good in the first inning, and he has elite power.

Therefore, I’m not being swayed by his road splits in this contest.

George Kirby, who will pitch for Seattle, has been solid this season with a 4.5 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He averages over a strikeout per inning, and when he is dealing, he can get outs very easily.

The Mariners have a big power edge, especially at the top of the order with Cal Raleigh. Hopefully he has a big swing, and Seattle jumps out to an early lead.
