NBA Player Props and Best Bets: LeBron James, Bam Adebayo & More Picks for Saturday, Jan. 17

The NBA world made it to another weekend, and I’ve selected my favorite player props from today’s action.

Jordyn Tyson dropped a career-high 39 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers took down the Philadelphia 76ers last night, while Kevin Durant and Julius Randle also traded 39-point nights, but the Houston Rockets came out on top against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Saturday’s slate is loaded with teams from across the league, but the best matchups just might be the Timberwolves on the road against the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks hosting the Phoenix Suns.

Here are my best NBA player prop picks and bets for Saturday, Jan. 17.

NBA Player Props and Best Bets January 17

Ace Bailey under 1.5 threes (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Bailey went through the pre-draft process being regarded as a player who could score from all over the floor. His pro career is still in its infancy, but he hasn’t quite demonstrated that ability, averaging 10.1 points on 33.6 percent three-point shooting with 4.0 attempts per game.

Bailey played 15 or fewer minutes in three of his last five games, and he went under this line in eight of his last 11 contests. He’s also facing the Dallas Mavericks, who allowed the second-fewest made threes per game and held Bailey under this line in both of their matchups, one of which was on Thursday night.

Kon Kneuppel over 17.5 points (+100) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The 20-year-old Kneuppel is already an impressive NBA player, having averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game on 48/43/89 shooting splits. He beat this line in seven of his last 10 games and also dropped 20 points on 63.6 percent shooting on the Golden State Warriors when they met at the end of December.

The Warriors rank eighth in points allowed per game for the year and over the last few weeks, which is a representation of their defensive consistency. The Hornets lead the league in offensive rating over the last 15 games, and I think they can unlock the Warriors’ defense.

LeBron James under 8.5 assists (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

It’s becoming more apparent with every passing game that the Lakers are in desperate need of reinforcements at the trade deadline, as they’re missing scorers, rebounders, and defenders, which covers most of the game. With Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic out tonight, I’m feeling bearish about LeBron.

The King only played one game without Doncic and Austin Reaves, against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 23, and he finished with six assists. The Portland Trail Blazers ranked 12th in assists allowed per game over the last few weeks, and as great of a passer as LeBron is, I’m just not sure who else can put the ball in the cup.

Bam Adebayo over 10.5 rebounds (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Adebayo has been as solid as ever on the boards, although his 9.5 rebounds per game isn’t necessarily dominant. Where he has been dominant is against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he grabbed 10+ boards in all five of their meetings since the start of the 2023-24 campaign.

Adebayo had 14 rebounds when these teams played on Jan. 11 and 15 in their last matchup before that, which was on Feb. 12, 2025. The Thunder allowed the second-most rebounds per game over their last 15 contests, and Adebayo has a proven ability to win the matchup on the interior with these players.

Stephon Castle over 6.5 assists (-106) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Timberwolves are coming off of a hard-fought and physical loss to the Rockets, and they have to turn around and get ready for another of the best teams in the Western Conference. The Wolves are just about average in limiting their opponents’ assists, but they could be a step slow without Anthony Edwards on the floor, and given they’re on the second night of a back-to-back.

Castle has done a great job of moving the ball around, going over this line in eight of his last 10 games and giving out 10 in his most recent outing. He only had five in these teams’ previous meeting on the 11th, but I expect him to have a better night.
