Amon-Ra St. Brown hauled in just two of his 12 Targets against Philadelphia
Rome Odunze currently leads the Chicago Bears in total Red Zone Targets
The New York Giants defense ranks near dead last in Def DVOA and in EPA
The Detroit Lions severely underwhelmed on offense in last week’s loss to Philadelphia as they were held to just nine total points while Amon-Ra St. Brown struggled to haul in his Targets. Luckily for the Super Bowl contenders, their offense will have a great opportunity to round back into form on Sunday as they face off against the New York Giants who rank near dead last in most key defensive metrics.

Amon-Ra St. Brown played a major role in Detroit’s underwhelming performance on Sunday night as the Lions star wide receiver hauled in just two of his 12 Targets for a total of 42 yards. While St. Brown did have some questionable drops, most of the blame can be pointed towards Jared Goff as the Lions quarterback finished the contest with a 37.8% Completion Percentage.
Fortunately for Detroit, St. Brown will have a great opportunity to round back into form as he faces off against the New York Giants who rank near dead last in Def DVOA and in EPA. Especially with the Giants front seven struggling to collapse the pocket as their league average mark in Pass Rush Win Rate indicates as their lack of pressure will give St. Brown extra time in the open field to break away from their coverage.

While Jahmyr Gibbs was able to thrive through the air, the Lions speedster struggled to get the ground game going as he was held to just 3.2 Yards per Carry. A stunning low level of play from Gibbs as he currently ranks above league average in Yards Over Expected per Carry while running behind an offensive line who resides near the top of the board in Run Block Line Yards.
Like St. Brown, Gibbs is also in a favorable position to bounce back as he faces off against a Giants defensive line who ranks 30th overall in Run Defense PFF Grade. With the Lions offense expected to move the ball down the field and get into scoring position at a high rate, Gibbs chances of scoring multiple touchdowns increases.

After taking over as the starting running back for the New England Patriots, TreVeyon Henderson has seen his odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award skyrocket as he continues to capitalize on his higher usage rate. Henderson’s versatility was on full display in last week’s win against the New York Jets as he finished the contest with 93 yards of offense and three total touchdowns.
In a favorable matchup against Cincinnati, Henderson will be able to build on his momentum as he faces off against a Bengals defense who ranks 27th in Run Defense Win Rate. The Bengals low Blitz Rate will also increase Henderson’s chances of generating an explosive run as their lack of bodies at the line of scrimmage will widen the width of his running lanes in the trenches.

Since the start of the regular season, Rome Odunze has quickly turned into Caleb Williams favorite pass catcher to throw to when in scoring position as the Chicago Bears receiver comfortably leads the team in total Red Zone Targets. With the Pittsburgh Steelers back end ranking in the bottom ten in EPA, expect Odunze to consistently exploit their gaps in coverage and create a high quality passing lane for Williams to throw to.
