The Chargers beat the Chiefs 27-21 in Week 1
Justin Herbert threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns in last week's win
The Raiders allowed nearly 300 yards passing last week
The Los Angeles Chargers will have their second AFC West game of the season on Monday when they battle the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chargers started the season with a statement win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Justin Herbert was exceptional to open the season, and his performance caused his NFL MVP odds to spike. I have three Justin Herbert props for the game from bet365.

Justin Herbert is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL, but it hasn’t always translated to success on the field. Herbert is 6’6” and can throw one of the prettiest deep balls in the NFL, but he has been handicapped by poor coaching.
Last season, Jim Harbaugh took over as head coach, and it paid dividends for the quarterback in the regular season. The Chargers established a fierce run game, which opened up the play-action passing attack.
One thing Herbert didn’t get to do a lot of was throw the ball in high-leverage situations. The Chargers relied heavily on running the ball to the point where they won by controlling the clock.
When Herbert was forced to throw the ball in the playoffs, it didn’t work very well. He turned it over consistently, and this isn’t a recipe for winning.
Harbaugh knew he had to add more early down passing into the playbook, and it showed in Week 1. Justin Herbert was fantastic, throwing the ball 34 times. He completed 25 passes for 318 yards and picked apart the Chiefs' secondary.
Kansas City doesn’t have a great defense, but the team has been to the Super Bowl for three consecutive seasons. The fact that Herbert was able to pick the defense apart is impressive, and he should have success against the Raiders.
The quarterback’s passing yards line is 253.5, and the Raiders' secondary is nothing impressive. They surrendered nearly 300 yards to the air to Drake Maye last week.
If the Chargers handle the pass rush with Maxx Crosby, Herbert should have a lot of success.

Herbert was surgical in the red zone against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was placing the ball where only his receivers could make the catch.
Herbert threw for three touchdowns on Sunday, which is a mark many quarterbacks didn’t come close to in their openers. Herbert has an underrated receiving corps, and this showed against the Chiefs.
Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey, and Keenan Allen are three legitimate options in the red zone. All three of the pass catchers are good enough to create vertical plays down the field as well.
Herbert’s passing touchdowns line is listed at 1.5, and the over is -110. The passing attack worked so well in Week 1 that I believe they’ll go back to this aspect of their offense on Sunday.

Herbert is so athletic that he can win by throwing the ball and on the ground. The quarterback carried the ball seven times for 32 yards against the Chiefs.
There were a few designed runs, but Herbert made many of these runs by scrambling. The quarterback had a 19-yard run last week.
Defenses must account for his arm, but this leaves rushing lanes open. When the quarterback gets in space, he makes plays.
Herbert is good enough to rip off a 10-yard run on Monday.
