Xavier Worthy is on track to play this weekend
The Giants allowed 361 passing yards last week
New York’s defense has given up more rushing yards than any other team
The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Big Apple, desperate to avoid a 0-3 start to the season and remain in the hunt for their tenth consecutive AFC West title. While issues and injuries have plagued them, we expect to see Patrick Mahomes and company send a clear message to the league with a lopsided win on Sunday Night Football.

We no longer view the Chiefs as a Super Bowl contender, but this team is better than they have shown. We expect that to change on Sunday night, especially with Xavier Worthy seeming on track to return. He will give the team the playmaker they’ve been missing, elevating the entire offense.
Despite investing in their defensive front over the summer, the Giants have struggled to make stops. We were initially encouraged after their Week 1 loss to Washington, but allowed the Cowboys to score 40 points on 478 points in a heartbreaking loss. Given that the Commanders' offense stumbled against in Week 2, it’s hard to have faith in New York’s defense.
There will be a lot of talk about the Chiefs being vulnerable this week, especially after the Giants’ offense gained over 500 last week. Don’t be fooled by that, as this is a bad team that will fall victim to a highly motivated Mahomes in prime time.

We talked about Mahomes being motivated above, but that isn’t the only reason to back the legendary quarterback. While his stats aren’t great, they’ve been largely affected by the team’s poor receiving corps. They have missed Worthy, and his return will take the pressure off a shallow receiving corps and aging Travis Kelce.
New York’s pass rush was vastly improved last week, but the secondary wasn’t. Despite the increased pressure, Dak Prescott was able to pass for 361 yards and two touchdowns. Several receivers were involved, and four delivered at least one catch of 15+ yards. That’s a good sign for the Chiefs, who will be looking to break some big plays early against the Giants.
The Giants haven’t seen Mahomes since November 2021, and that will play into the quarterback’s hands tonight.

The 26-year-old running back was hit hard by injuries last season, leading the team to ease him into action in the first two weeks. He wasn’t able to find much running room against a great Eagles defense on ten carries last week, but he’ll be facing a far easier test this weekend.
The Giants' run defense has been a mess in 2025, allowing the most yards of any team over the first two weeks (335 yards). Those are a lot of yards to give up against shaky backfields, giving us plenty of reason to think Pachecho can find more room to run tonight.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Chiefs have been playing close games, often from behind, which has led to fewer rushes. That will change tonight as they build a large lead early, giving Pachecho and the rest of the group plenty of touches.
