Miami scored 27 points on 358 yards against the Pats last week
The Dolphins' defense has allowed three QB rushing TDs this season
Miami has two starting defensive backs in danger of missing the game
It is only the third week of the 2025 NFL season, but Miami is already fighting to save its season. The team opened with a blowout loss against the Colts, and followed it up with an ugly loss to the Pats in Week 2. Now, they are heading north to take on the Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills, desperately hoping to avoid a 0-3 start.
We'll provide insights into each leg of our favorite same-game parlay for this matchup, using odds from Caesars Sportsbook - one of our favorite NFL betting sites available today. We aren’t ready to give up 14.5 points against a desperate Miami team, but we are very confident about the final score going over the total on Thursday night.
The reason for our confidence is the number of injuries both teams are dealing with on defense. The Bills have three key players on the injury report in Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, and Taron Johnson. The Dolphins are even worse off, with Chop Robinson, Benito Jones, Ifeatu Melifonwu, and Storm Duck all dealing with injuries.
We don’t trust this Miami offense, but they still have a ton of talent. That helped them score 27 points and gain 358 against New England last week. Although they were shut down by the Colts in Week 1, the team appears to be far better than expected. The Bills' defense is very talented, but it can be vulnerable to good offenses. If Tua can get cooking, even if it's after the game has been decided, it will lead to a high-scoring matchup.

Josh Allen dominated through the passing game in Week 1, but still finished with 14 carries for 30 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 2, he was held without a score but still rushed for 59 yards on just six carries. With an injured and struggling Miami defense coming to town, we expect his fancy footwork to continue.
The Dolphins are already sick of quarterbacks who can run the ball. They faced Daniel Jones and Drake Maye in their first two games, allowing them to combine for 57 yards and three touchdowns. Josh Allen is just as, if not more, effective a runner as those two, making it hard to believe the Dolphins defense will fare any better in prime time this week.

Coleman is a boom-or-bust touchdown pick, but we love his chances to deliver one against an AFC East rival on Thursday.
Miami’s secondary is banged up far more than many people realize. While the newly added Minkah Fitzpatrick is an incredible safety, the team could be without two starters in cornerback Duck and strong safety Melifonwu. However, their bench has also been battered. Backup corner Ethan Bonner is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Artie Burns, Jason Maitre, and Kader Kohou are all on IR.
While there is a chance the defense’s two starters and Bonner will play, it's unlikely they will be anywhere close to 100% against this elite Bills offense.
A hobbled and short-handed secondary will allow Coleman room to get open deep, where Josh Allen will find him. We are taking his TD prop here, but would also recommend taking the over on his yardage total in Buffalo on Thursday.
