  • Two of Miami’s last three losses were by three or fewer points

  • Derrick Henry has rushed for 193 yards and 2 TDs over the last two weeks

  • De’Von Achane is averaging 5.0 YPC this season

The Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins have arguably been the two most disappointing teams in the NFL. They both picked up blowout wins last week, but only one will be able to build on that win in Week 9. We are planning to cash in on this underrated matchup with a Thursday Night Football same game parlay.

Dolphins +7.5 (-107) at Caesars Sportsbook

The expected return of Lamar Jackson led this line to be so large, giving us a great chance to win some money.

Miami has been bad, but they have lost several close games. Two of their last three losses were by three points or fewer, showing resilience from a team the media has declared a bust. We saw them come together last week to overcome the negative headlines, and we believe that will continue to focus on Thursday.

The Ravens' defense has been awful all season, which will allow the Miami playmakers to have a big day. That includes running back De’Von Achane, who is averaging 5.0 YPC this season. He will exploit a horrible Ravens run defense on Thursday.

Miami’s dominance on the ground will force the Ravens to load up against the run, leaving some passing lanes open for Jaylen Waddle and the other Miami receivers. Miami’s offense can score quickly, even without Tyreek Hill. This will allow them to keep this game within seven points.

Derrick Henry 100+ Rush Yards (+110) at Caesars Sportsbook

After a brutal slump early this season, King Henry is back in a big way. He has rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. That success came despite minimal production from Baltimore’s backup quarterbacks, which allowed defenses to stack the box against Henry.

We talked about Baltimore’s struggles to stop the run above, but Miami has been even worse. They are allowing the fifth-most rushing yards per game (145.0) and the fourth-highest YPC average (5.0).

Those numbers are a bad sign against a back like Henry. Combine that with the fact that Lamar Jackson will likely be back, and you can see why we are willing to back this big bet.

De’Von Achane 70+ Rush Yards (+105) at Caesars Sportsbook

Miami running back De’Von Achane has had an incredible start to the season. He’s posted  774 scrimmage yards with seven touchdowns, averaging a ridiculous 5.0 YPC. While he struggled against a very good Falcons run defense last week, he’ll be facing a far easier test on Thursday night.

Baltimore’s run defense has not been good all season, allowing 4.5 YPC to opposing rushers. We saw them get exposed again last week against a Bears backfield that doesn’t compare to Achane. As much talent as the Ravens have, we haven’t seen anything to convince us they can slow this explosive young back down.
