ESPN Bet Announces Upcoming Launch of New FanCenter Feature

Penn Entertainment isn’t giving up on sports betting just yet.

The operator announced on Monday that its ESPN Bet sportsbook is about to get a significant upgrade with the launch of FanCenter. This new feature allows bettors to create a customizable hub for a more seamless betting experience. While no official launch date was shared, Penn confirmed it is looking to have FanCenter live before the end of the summer.

The new hub will integrate the betting, ESPN, and fantasy accounts of each customer. Once that’s done, it will populate bets related to your favorite teams and players. It’ll also allow you to easily access ESPN stats and insights directly on the sportsbook while considering a wager.

The hub will also allow bettors to find wagers related to their fantasy teams. This will enable fantasy managers an easy way to wager on their roster. Penn hopes this will lead the sports media giant’s massive fantasy user base to switch to ESPN Bet for their sports betting news.

FanCenter will also give bettors an easier way to view and track their Mint Club rewards and promotions.

The hub is still waiting on final regulatory approvals, but is expected to go live sometime over the next three weeks.

ESPN Bet’s Last Stand?

While the imminent launch of FanCenter is a massive win for Penn and ESPN Bet, a lot is riding on its success. Penn’s leadership has been under fire from some key investors who believe they are responsible for the sportsbook’s inability to turn a profit. With Penn able to exit its contract with ESPN next year, it seems that the sportsbook’s days may be numbered.

Penn CEO Jay Snowden has been ESPN Bet’s biggest supporter. He promised investors it would begin seeing profits starting in 2026, citing FanCenter as a key factor. This hub will allow the sportsbooks better access to ESPN’s massive user base. It's a feature no other sportsbooks can match, giving Snowden hope that it will help them increase their US market share.

How FanCenter fares could go a long way toward determining if Penn decides to exit its deal with ESPN.
