Evolution has finally brought its second live dealer studio alternative to the East Coast. It’s Ezugi brand will launch in New Jersey in the coming days, using the Atlantic City Evolution studios for its initial rollout.
Ezugi, while owned by Evolution, offers a different take and approach to the live dealer market that has seen it win awards internationally for its innovative, colorful products and exciting new titles.
The company is also known for its many offerings that it has licensed from other operators, and this includes Galaxy Gaming's EZ Baccarat and Auto Roulette, which will be some of the first games released in the Garden State.
Evolution also plans to roll out its Ezugi titles in Michigan in the first quarter of 2026, using its studio in Grand Rapids. The games in both states will make use of the Evolution OSS platform, which allows access to these highly regulated markets.
Evolution purchased Ezugi in 2019, for a very reasonable $18 million, in a deal announced just months after Evolution had made its US debut, and at a time when Ezugi was its only competitor in the live studio streaming market in North America.
That year, Evolution had revenue of $400 million. Just five years later, in 2025, the company booked almost $2.5 billion in revenue, and continues its rapid double-digit growth each year. They currently operate in almost 60 countries and seven US states.
Ezugi, meanwhile, continues impressive growth as well, and while predominantly still very much a European operator with studios in locations like Malta, Latvia, and Estonia, they have also branched out into the LATAM market with casinos in Colombia and Costa Rica. While they once operated in Cambodia, that studio was shuttered several years ago, so it’s possible that an Asian expansion for the company may also be in the works.
They are quickly gaining a name for themselves for innovative games like Coin Rush and EZ Marble Race Monaco, all the while mixing in cool camera angles, memorable intros, and shareable clips of your betting experience, all key to winning over that important Gen Z demographic.
It remains to be seen if Evolution’s relaunch of Ezugi in the very competitive North American market will see them able to utilize that innovative game mix and cool kid aesthetic to win back a sizable market share or if it is simply another case of too little, too late in a sector increasingly dominated by just a few larger operators.
