Plant vs Resendiz Predictions Odds

Caleb Plant is the red-hot betting favorite at bet365 and all major online sportsbooks. It’s difficult to argue against that stance, as the traders know Plant has the better record and is ranked higher. But anything is possible in professional boxing, especially at this level. Bouts can change with a single blow, and it’s worth remembering Resendiz is here on merit. Can he upset the odds and score a stunning win? Of course. Will he upset the odds and score a stunning win? That remains to be seen.

Regardless of which fighter you choose, betting on the fight-winner market is quick, straightforward and simple. Choose the gladiator you think will come out on top, visit your preferred betting app and click to add to your bet slip. Input a stake and confirm. Your bet becomes live and can’t be changed.

Here’s a simple example:

$10 on Jose Armando Resendiz win @ +1200 (bet365)

Suppose you fancy the underdog to win this weekend. Place a $10 bet on Resendiz to win, and if he delivers victory, you’ll land the profits. It doesn’t matter if he wins on points or by knockout when playing the fight-winner market.

If Resendiz wins, you land $10 at +1200 = $130. That’s $120 profit and your $10 stake back. But if Plant wins again in Vegas or the bout ends in a draw, the bookmaker keeps your stake.

Caleb Plant Form and Figures

Texan Caleb Plant arrives on fight night with a professional boxing record showing 23 wins against two defeats, with 14 wins coming inside the distance and one stoppage loss. The 32-year-old from Tennessee, currently living in Vegas, is ranked at number two in the United States behind Diego Pacheco and seventh on a global chart dominated by Saul Alvarez. Beating Resendiz won’t improve his rating too much, but it would keep him in the mix for major honors at super middleweight.

The only man to defeat Plant in a career spanning 163 rounds, was David Benavidez in Vegas just over two years ago. That bout went to the scorecards, with Benavidez getting the result by a decent margin, including six rounds on one scorecard. Suffering his first loss and dropping a proud unbeaten record didn’t deter his plans, and Plant was soon back to winning ways and driving his career forward.

Plant was last in action in September 2024 when stopping Trevor McCumby inside nine rounds at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. It was about Caleb was expected to win, and he had no trouble getting the result, sending his man in the early rounds before beating him on cuts after nine. Fans can’t wait to see Planet duck back between the ropes.

Jose Armando Resendiz Form and Figures

With all the pre-fight hype surrounding his opponent, Jose Armando Resendiz has flown under the radar this week. The Mexican fighter living in California brings a 15-2-0 professional record with 11 knockout wins and one of his two losses coming inside the distance. He’s ranked fifth in Mexico and a lowly 110th in the world. That will all change if he finds a way to win on Saturday.

The 26-year-old lost on points over ten rounds to Marcos Hernandez in 2021 and was stopped inside eight rounds by Elijah Garcia in the summer of 2023. Since his most recent defeat, Toro has fought once and won, beating Fernando Paliza in round five of a fight scheduled for six. It was an opponent he should be beating with ease, but Jose deserves full credit for getting the job done in style, paving the way for this bout.

Resendiz’s career-best performance was a tenth-round knockout win over Jarrett Hurd in Ontario two years ago. He faces another step up in class here, knowing only a personal best will be enough to see him upset the odds and beat Plant.

Plant vs. Resendiz Prediction

The betting traders have Plant as the most likely winner here, and I agree they have the right man. There’s not a lot to get excited about in the fight-winner market, meaning we stray into the specials, where there are better odds and more imaginative markets.

The method of victory market challenges fight bettors to predict the winner and how they’ll achieve the result: on points or by KO/TKO. Plant is our pick, but how will he win? Each of his last two wins have come in round nine, encouraging a bet on Plant to win in rounds 7-9 at odds of +260 (bet365).
