Since back-to-back defeats to Fury, Wilder has fought four times, winning two and losing the others. He blasted Robert Helenius inside a round in Brooklyn, before he was out-pointed by Joseph Parker, and stopped in five by Zhilei Zhang. Both losses came in Saudi Arabia. Deontay beat Tyrrell Anthony Herndon (24-5-0) inside seven rounds last time out.

We’ve arrived at the most important part of the article: Chisora vs Wilder betting predictions. As I mentioned earlier, I expected a competitive pre-fight betting market, so I was surprised to see traders throw their weight behind Chisora. The home win is certainly possible, and will be extremely popular with bettors, but I feel traders have overpriced Wilder.

Now, Deontay is by no means a guaranteed winner here, but he makes sense. For your stake, you’re getting a former world champion who is undoubtedly past his best, but he carries a near 98% knockout average. He has stopped respected fighters, including Luis Ortiz, Dominic Breazeale, and Bermane Stiverne, all inside seven rounds. Is War next?

The key to victory for Deontay is finding his range early and getting his big shots off. He must gain Chisora’s respect from the off. The longer the bout goes, the more it favours the Englishman. That’s why I expect the American to explode out of the traps. Even if Derek survives the early onslaught, Wilder’s power makes him dangerous throughout the contest.
