  • Jack Catterall boasts a 30-2-0 record.

  • Harlem Eubank has won all his previous 21 starts.

  • The Manchester Arena hosts on Saturday.

Followers of International boxing have a fascinating fight from England this weekend as Jack Catterall takes on Harlem Eubank over the championship distance. Manchester Arena plays host to a Matchroom Sports show with Eddie Hearn presenting another stacked card, which includes Joe Cordina vs Mexican Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz for the vacant WBO Global lightweight title. That promises to be a cracker, but there’s no denying the main attraction.

Will Catterall bounce back from a defeat to Arnold Barboza Jr in Manchester back in February? Will Harlem, one of the fighting Eubank family, upset the odds and the home crowd to announce his arrival on the big stage, nudging him towards major titles? We’ve enlisted the help of former professional boxer and gambling writer Frankie Monkhouse, who previews Catterall vs Eubank, highlighting the best odds and promotions before giving his final predictions on how to beat the bookies this weekend.

Jack Catterall vs Harlem Eubank Odds Predictions

Jack Catterall is the firm favourite in the pre-fight betting odds, and that will come as no surprise to anyone who has followed his career. The local boxer will enjoy the backing of the home support on fight night, and many pundits believe that will make the difference in a competitive contest. The odds suggest Harlem Eubank must deliver a career-best performance just to stay in the running, but he’s here on merit and writing him off before a punch has been thrown in anger is a dangerous approach.

Should you place your trust in the bookies and follow the favourite? There’s no doubt Catterall has the skills and experience to make a quickfire return to winning ways. Do you go against the crowd and take a chance on the underdog? Eubank winning in Manchester certainly wouldn’t be the biggest upset we’ve seen in boxing this year. There’s also sure to be bits of interest in the draw at huge odds due to the competitive nature of the bout. Solving this puzzle won’t be an easy task by anyone’s standards.

To shed more light on the betting, I provide an example below.

  • $20 on Eubank to win @ +275 (bet365)

Suppose you fancy the underdog to win at a great price and you stake £20 on Harlem. When opting for the fight-winner market, you have a one-in-three chance of beating the bookies, with your selection working against both the opponent and the draw.

If Eubank wins, you’ll land a $75 return, which is a $55 profit and your original $20 stake back. But if Catterall wins the fight or it ends in a draw, your gamble loses, and the bookmaker keeps your stake.

Catterall Form and Figures

Jack Catterall brings a professional boxing record detailing 30 wins against two defeats. He’s the number two-ranked fighter at welterweight in the UK and stands at six in the global rankings, a chart that American duo Jaron Ennis and Devin Haney dominate. A win on Saturday wouldn’t see Jack overtake the current leaders, but it could shunt him up the pecking order, placing the Englishman in line for a shot at one of the major players later this year. He won’t want to look beyond his next opponent, but Jack knows he must win on Saturday and should do it in the kind of style that attracts attention.

Catterall’s first defeat as a prizefighter came against Scotland’s former unified world champion, Josh Taylor. Many who watched the fight from Glasgow believed Catterall had done enough to win, and thought a draw would be a robbery. Therefore, there was outrage when the Tartan Tornado got the home win. The pair renewed the rivalry in Manchester, with Catterall winning, again thought to be a home decision, as Josh looked to have nicked it. The only other man to beat Jack was Barboza Jr in February, again on the scorecards.

Eubank Form and Figures

Harlem Eubank’s professional boxing record shows 21 wins from as many contests in a career that started with a first-round stoppage win in Brighton back in 2017. Since that eye-catching bow, Harlem has continued his winning ways, climbing the ranks of British boxing and collecting some respected titles. He has already won the WBO Global super lightweight prize and the IBF Inter-Continental bauble at welterweight. But victory on Saturday would be his biggest achievement to date.

Eubank - a 31-year-old orthodox boxer from Sussex - was last seen in action beating Tyrone McKenna in the tenth round of a fight scheduled for 12. That was an impressive win against a more experienced opponent who has shared a ring with some strong fighters. Beating McKenna proved to Eubank’s handlers he’s more than ready to take his career to the next level. The pressure is now on him to prove that his manager was right in putting him forward to fight Catterall. A win would see him race up the rankings, paving the way for some money-spinning bouts in the second half of 2025.

Catterall vs. Eubank Betting Prediction

Eubank has the skills to win this fight, but he’s campaigned at a lower level and now faces a welterweight who is experienced, strong, and brings a high work rate. This looks like a real 50/50 fight, so I wouldn’t put anyone off taking the value, but I’m picking Catterall’s experience and tricky style to shine through, with the home fighter winning on points.
